This is the base price for the guided hike and the navigation training.
You will need a printed map of the area. These maps can be shared one between two if you are attending with a friend or as part of a group. The map has been preselected for you. Deselect it only if you have your own or will share with someone else.
You may rent a Silva Ranger or similar model compass for the weekend. Or you may bring your own, or you can purchase one through MountainSphere.
This is the most popular option and this is an excellent compass. Southern hemisphere model.
This is my favourite. It is a Silva Ranger with a mirror for sighting. Great compass. You will learn how to use the sighting mirror on the course. Southern hemisphere model.
A lightweight 1 person tent, normally a Nemo Hornet 1P tent (1kg) can be hired for the weekend.
If you are attending with a friend or partner, it may be more economical to share a 2 person tent. Usually a Wilderness Equipment Second Arrow 2P.
A versatile backpack, normally a Wilderness Equipment Nullaki 55L, can be hired for the weekend.
A quality down sleeping bag in the Mont Helium range may be hired for the weekend
A lightweight compact sleeping pad may be hired for the weekend. Normally a Nemo Tensor or Thermarest Prolite pad.
If you are travelling by air to join the navigation weekend, you cannot carry gas on your flight. I can provide you with a gas cartridge which you return after the weekend.
Check this box if you are interested in a lift by car to or from the meeting point.
