Judges will be looking for examples of how both working and furloughed team members were kept informed, engaged and safeguarded, with the strategy decided, including communication platform, frequency and content, as well as providing safe channels for feedback from employees.

    • This award recognises employers who demonstrated a well-rounded and consistently excellent approach to supporting, engaging and inspiring staff, during the difficult and worrying times due to Covid-19 , as well as involvement with wider industry initiatives. Judges will be seeking evidence of an excellent all-round employer.

    • 7. Best Use of Digital Marketing to Promote Sales or Service

      Successful digital marketing campaigns and strategies that helped the business overcome lockdown restrictions and continue to promote their service and products
    • This award recognises the successful use of superior digital media campaigns, which enabled the business to overcome lockdown restrictions safely but productively. The judges will be looking for clear evidence of success in this area, including campaign strategy, identifying their goal, platforms chosen and use of social media to personify the brand whilst speaking directly to customers.

    • 8. Best Use of Technology to improve Customer Experience

      Success in creating or updating an app that allows customers to enjoy hospitality with ease whilst allowing venues to operate safely and efficiently
    • Celebrating and rewarding the most successful app and technology initiatives, specifically designed to allow customers to have a positive experience whilst allowing businesses to operate safely and efficiently. The focus should be on the process and ease in which customers can check in all guests, order, pay and more. Evidence will also be sought to demonstrate how, as the technology of contact tracing has been privatised, operators have designed a system in line with data-protection legislation.

      Success in delivering restaurant dining experience to people's home to enjoy during lockdown and beyond
    • This award seeks the most successful approach to bringing the joy of quality restaurant dining delivered to the customer’s door. Our judges will be looking for sustained, effective, innovative and creative solutions, specifically designed to deliver your meals, brand and experience to consumers

    • 10. Most Innovative Alcohol Strategy

      Success in creating and delivering “happy hour” worthy drinks and experiences to their customers doors
    • Rewards businesses who can best demonstrate an innovative and successful commitment to delivering alcoholic drinks to the British public. Judges will be looking for mixologists who designed cocktails that can be easily recreated ay home, or breweries who can deliver their craft to those who miss it most. These are the initiatives that improved the quality of lockdown for many.

    • This award acknowledges the organisation that demonstrates the most outstanding opportunities for business innovation. Judges will be looking for examples of successful initiatives to pivot the business model or updating processes and systems to affect a positive change

    • 12. Best National Support for Key Workers

      Success in offering support at a national level to support the key workers on the front line during Covid-19 pandemic
    • In March 2020, the UK was put into a lockdown in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, however, across the country many key workers still went to work to keep this country going. From NHS staff, to shopworkers and public service workers. This award recognises businesses that stepped up to support these workers during this time. Judges will be looking for the support needed identified, how this was done and the impact it had on a national level

      Success in offering support at a national level to tackle issues brought on by Covid-19 for those more vulnerable or at-risk due to the pandemic
    • This award recognises businesses who successfully demonstrated excellence in offering support to vulnerable or at-risk people across the country. Whether this was people shielding, homeless, or those who struggled financially due to job losses, there was a much larger need for support than ever this year. Judges will be looking for the support needed identified, how this was done and the impact it had on a national level

      Successful individual supporting the local community during the difficulty of lockdown through initiatives, generosity of product or time, or partnering with another local business or charity
    • This award rewards an individual who has demonstrated a real commitment to supporting their local community during the difficulty of lockdown. Judges will be looking for examples of coordinated care efforts to support those self-isolating, the more at-risk demographic, providing and delivering meals for children or other incredible but just as important initiatives.

      Successful group or collective supporting the local community during the difficulty of lockdown through initiatives, generosity of product or staff time, or partnering with another local business or charity
    • This award rewards a group or collective which have demonstrated a real commitment to supporting their local community during the difficulty of lockdown. Judges will be looking for examples of coordinated care efforts to support those self-isolating, the more at-risk demographic, providing and delivering meals for children or other incredible but just as important initiatives.
