The Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award is the highest and most prestigious recognition the McLennan Community College Foundation’s Highlander Alumni & Friends Association can bestow upon McLennan alumni. The award is presented to an alumnus or alumna of MCC who has demonstrated a record of distinguished service and extraordinary achievement in a particular discipline, organization, or cause that brings distinction to MCC. Each year, one individual is chosen by the MCC Foundation’s Alumni Awards Selection Committee to receive this prominent award.
•Any individual may nominate any alumnus/alumna who graduated or completed prior to May 31, 2023 for this award. To be eligible, nominees must have successfully completed a one-year certificate, two-year associate’s degree program, or have earned a minimum of 30 transferable hours (without a degree) from McLennan Community College prior to May 31, 2023.
•Nominations must be received by July 31, 2024 for consideration for the award announced at the November 8, 2024 Scholarship Recognition Ceremony. Forms received after July 31 will be considered the following calendar year. Nomination forms will not be recycled from year to year; a new nomination form must be submitted each year for consideration.
•The recipient of the award will be notified by August 15, 2024 so he or she can make plans to attend the ceremony. The honoree will receive an award and an engraved paver in the Highlander Legacy Plaza on the McLennan campus.
•McLennan Community College employees are not eligible to receive this award.
•Questions regarding the nomination process should be directed to Wes Livesay at 254-299-8606 or wlivesay@mclennan.edu.
