  • About your door

  • We'll start with a few questions about your door hardware to provide you with a tailor-made installation guide for your door.

  • What type of door hardware do you have on the outside of your door?

  • Can you see a small slot or opening on the bottom side of your exterior rosette?

  • Some rosettes have a small opening or slot on the underside. This is meant for sliding the cover upward or prying it off with a screwdriver.

  • Get the toolkit

  • You have a sliding rosette or rosette with detachable cover and need our toolkit for installing the lock on your door. Please contact us via the chat at LOQED.com if you don't have this toolkit before proceeding.

The installation of the Display Module with the toolkit is slightly different from the steps in this manual.

Please download the installation manual by clicking here and return to this manual when the Display Module is installed.

  • Image-217
  • Cylinder above the handle

  • Is the cylinder situated below or above the handle on the inside of your door?

  • Comfort door furniture

  • Your door has comfort or senior door furniture. Note that some of the images in this guide will be upside down compared to your lock. Please interpret the instructions accordingly.

  • What you need

    • Tools to remove your current door hardware and cylinder. This is different from door to door, but generally a large Philips and flat-tip screwdriver will suffice.
    • The small screwdriver and hex key included with your LOQED Touch Smart Lock.

Place a towel or blanket under the door to prevent parts from getting damaged if they accidentally fall down.

  • Remove the door handle

  • Start by removing the door handle on the inside with the hex key. In rare cases you can remove the handle by inserting the small screwdriver into a hole on the inside of the handle.

If there is no visible screw, you can proceed directly to the next step.

  • Image-191
  • Remove the cylinder screw

  • Remove the screw that secures the cylinder. The cylinder is secured with only one screw, located at the same height as the base of the cylinder.

  • Image-192
  • Remove the cylinder

  • Insert the key and turn the cylinder up to 45 degrees while gently pulling on the key, until the cylinder can be removed. If the cylinder cannot be removed, remove the door hardware in the next step first and try again.

  • Image-190
  • Remove the door hardware

  • Remove the three screws in the plate on the inside of your door.

  • Remove the two screws in the rose around the cylinder and the two screws in the rose around the door handle.

  • Remove the two screws in the inside rosette around the cylinder and the two screws in the rose around the inside door handle. Slide the faceplate of the outside rose up and remove the two screws in the baseplate below.

  • On some doors, the screws are hidden by a cover. Gently pry the cover off with a flat screwdriver. There is a small slot on the bottom side for doing this.

Support the door hardware while removing the screw to prevent it from falling on the floor.

  • Image-193
  • Image-195
  • Did you successfully remove the door hardware?

  • Removing stuck door hardware

  • If after removing the screws you cannot remove the door hardware, the door hardware might have been mounted when the paint of the door was not yet dry. If this is the case, cut alongside the edge of the door hardware with a sharp knife to prevent damaging the paint. Use a strong screwdriver in one of the outer screwholes as a lever and remove the door hardware. This can require quite some force.

Please make completely sure all screws have been removed before attempting this, to prevent damaging your door. The screws may be hidden under a cover.

  • Does your door hardware have an anti plug pulling feature?

  • An anti plug pulling feature is present when the the cylinder is covered and only the keyhole is accessible through a small slot. Often this cover has an oval shape.

  • Is the anti plug pulling feature raised and/or flexible?

  • Use one or two spacers when mounting the Outside Module

  • On one side of the spacers, there is a small edge. This is placed against the outside module and helps it stay in place. This allows the spacer to be placed over the protruding anti-core pulling device.

The image below is the old spacer, and looks different from the spacer delivered from March 2021.

  • Image-196
  • Remove the mounting block from the Outside Module

  • Use the included small screwdriver to undo the two screws on the back of the outside module mounting block.

  • Image-197
  • Mount the Outside module

  • Normal: Guide the cable of the Outside Module through the door furniture. While holding it in place, slide the mounting block over de cable. Make sure the long side faces the door furniture.

For door furniture with a thickness less than 8 mm, place the mounting block with the short side facing the door furniture.

  • Image-198
  • Rosette: Slide the long end of the mounting block through the baseplate of the rose and screw the plate back on the door with the original screws. Push the mounting block into the door so it's flush with the baseplate so you can place the faceplate on.

If the you don't have an anti plug pulling feature, place the faceplate back on the baseplate and slide it to its final position. Guide the cable of the outside module through the opening in the mounting block and through the door until the module is flush against the rose.

If you do have an anti plug pulling feature, guide the cable through the faceplate, mounting block and door before placing the the faceplate on the baseplate and sliding it into place.

  • Secure the Outside module

  • Normal: Secure the outside module with the two short screws and the small screwdriver. If you notice the screws are too short, use the two longer screws.

  • Sliding rose: Slide the tool through the opening for the cylinder to push the mounting block outwards. Insert the screws into the holes of the tool, threaded end first. Then use the screwdriver that came with the tool to secure the outside module with the two short screws and the small screwdriver. If you notice the screws are too short, use the two longer screws.

  • Do not use force to tighten the small screws or they will break.

  • Place the outside door furniture back

  • Long plate: Guide the cable of the outside module through the opening for the cylinder. Push the square shaft of the handle through the opening. Push the door furniture in until it is flush against the door, while making sure the cable does not get pinched in between.

  • Image-200
  • Rosette: Guide the cable of the outside module through the opening for the cylinder and place the door furniture flush against the door. Take caution that it does not fall on the floor. If needed, you can temporarely secure it with one of the original screws.

  • Image-201
  • Sliding rosette: [this step is skipped]

  • Place the LOQED cylinder

  • Hold the cylinder by the shaft, place it over the cable and slide it into the opening in the door. When the cylinder is in the right position, you should be able to turn the shaft about 90 degrees to either side by hand. If that's not the case, slide the cylinder forward or backward until it is in the right position.

  • Image-202
  • Place the LOQED cylinder screw

  • Use the screw supplied with the LOQED cylinder to screw it in place. Make sure the shaft of the cylinder is horizontal.

Do not use excessive force to tighten the screw.

  • Image-204
  • Remove the motor module from the Inside Module base

  • Use the hex key to remove the three black screws holding the motor module in place.

  • Image-203
  • Place the LOQED Inside Module base

  • Make sure the allen screw is facing left or right. Guide the cable of the Outside Module through the opening and slide the base of the LOQED Inside Module over the spindle. Make sure the outside door furniture stays in place. If this does not go smoothly, use the hex key to loosen the screw.

  • Image-205
  • Make sure the spindle adapter is mounted correctly

  • The spindle adapter should not protrude from the Inside Module Base. If it does, loosen the hex screw and push it down over the spindle.

  • Secure the Inside Module base

  • Take the two large rings, three small rings, and the original screws of your door furniture.

For the top and bottom screw: first place a small ring around the screw and then a large ring, with the beveled sides facing the screw head.

For the top middle screw: only place a small ring around the screw, with the beveled side facing the screw head.

Screw the base to the outside door furniture.

  • Image-206
  • Normal rosette: Take the four small rings and the original screws of your door furniture. Place the rings with the beveled side facing the screw head around the screws. Secure the base to the outside door furniture with the screws.

  • Sliding rosette: Take the original screws of your door furniture. Depending on the size of these screws, take either the large or small rings and place them with the beveled side facing the screw head around the screws. Secure the base to the door with the screws.

  • Ensure the Inside Module base is mounted straight

  • Ensure that the cylinder shaft is exactly in the middle of the slot in the base. If this is not the case, loosen the screws and adjust the position of the base.

  • Image-207
  • Tighten the hex screw next to the spindle

  • Use the hex key to secure the spindle screw.

If you door has a movable handle on the outside, confirm that it is fastened properly by pulling firmly on the handle. Replace the supplied screw with the one from the original door handle, if you have difficulties securing the spindle.

  • Image-214
  • Mount the motor module

  • Slide the motor module over the shaft of the cylinder. Note that the motor module can be placed in two different orientations, depending on your door. Choose the orientation that allows the module to be placed flat against the base.

Gently pull the cable of the outside module to prevent it from getting pinched when placing the motor module. Direct the cable so it's under the long end of the motor module, this can be upward or downward.

  • Image-208
  • Verify the knob can turn smoothly and the lock opens and closes

  • You should feel light clicks from the mechanism when turning the knob, but no major resistance. Is the knob rotating smoothly?

  • Making the knob turn smoothly

  • Please try the following steps:

    1. Loosen the screw of the cylinder slightly, rotate the knob a full rotation, and tighten the screw again.
    2. Remove the motor module and loosen the screws of the base. Push the base slightly upwards and tighten one of the screws to keep it in place. Confirm that the shaft of the cylinder is centered well and tighten the other screws again. Screw the motor module back in place.

If this does not resolve the issue, it is likely that your door is warped. Please contact LOQED support or a professional lock smith to resolve the issue.

  • Connect the cables

  • Plug in the cables for the batteries and the Outside Module. Note that the connectors can only be inserted in one orientation. If it does not fit easily, rotate the connector around. Excess cable can be tucked away under the batteries.

  • Install the batteries

  • Place the batteries with the correct polarity. Do not mix new and used batteries or batteries from different brands.

  • Place the housing for measurement

  • Take the housing and carefully place it over the spindle, with the inside facing out. It now hangs from the spindle.

  • Image-212
  • Choose the correct cover plate

  • Where is the knob located in the opening?

  • Place the cover plate

  • The three cover plates have their type marked on the back.

  • Take the cover plate marked with with C: PC55/110 and press it onto the motor module. The longest end should cover most of the motor module.

  • Take the cover plate marked with with A: PC72 and press it onto the motor module. The longest end should cover most of the motor module.

  • Take the cover plate marked with with B: PC92 and press it onto the motor module. The longest end should cover most of the motor module.

  • Take the cover plate marked with with C: PC55/110 and press it onto the motor module. The longest end should cover most of the motor module.

  • Place the housing

  • Press the steel housing onto the lock. This is easiest if the bottom is pressed first, then the top.

  • Image-213
  • Place the handle

  • Take the black ring and slide it over the spindle. Then place the handle over the spindle. Use the hex key to tighten the screw.

  • Plug in the Bridge

  • Plug the Bridge into a socket within 3 meters of the lock.

  • Woohoo!

  • Note that some of the parts that came with your lock will not be used, these are for other types of door hardware. Do not discard these parts, as you will need them if you want to mount the lock on a different door in the future.

You're done with the hard part of the installation! Open the LOQED app and choose 'Setup a new lock' from the menu to complete the installation.
