    Community Product Sale Coordinator - Cookie Program
  • Summary:

  • In partnership with Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains (GSGWM), the Cookie Community Product Sale Coordinator (CPSC) is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the council Girl Scout Cookie program, aligned to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE), within the assigned service unit. She or he ensures that all girls have the opportunity to "earn and learn" by participating in the council Girl Scout Cookie program. The nature of this position requires the individual to provide indirect and direct service to girls. 

  • Term of appointment:

  • The Cookie Community Product Sale Coordinator (CPSC) is appointed for a 1-year term that is renewable upon completion of evaluation processes.

  • Support and Training:

  • The Cookie Community Product Sale Coordinator (CPSC) is supervised by the Product Sale staff and supported by the Service Unit Volunteer Support Coordinator. The Cookie CPSC supervises the Troop Product Sale Coordinators in the service unit. 

  • Responsibilities:

    • Serve as a member of their Community Service Unit Team to ensure delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience in a designated service unit.
    • Attend Cookie CPSC training provided by GSGWM.
    • Accept all email communication pertaining to product sale.
    • Provide training and supervision to Troop/Group volunteers in service unit. Training to the troops will include the importance of the 5 Skills gained in the product program.
    • Obtain and retain signed Position Description Agreements from Troop Product Sale Coordinators.
    • Provide timely distribution of Product Sale materials and rewards to all Troop Product Sale Coordinators.
    • Frequently refer to Service Unit roster of current members in Looker for new members/troops.
    • Ensure only registered girls participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program. Ensure volunteers are registered who access eBudde/Digital Cookies.
    • Encourage service into to participate in council product programs.
    • Secure appropriate delivery sites for product deliveries and enter site information in eBudde. Accept and sign for delivery.
    • Coordinate product pick up by troops. Ensure each troop signs for product recieved and retain signed receipt.
    • Aid troops in their requests for booth sales, either by approval in eBudde or coordinating with other Cookie CPSCs from other service units where booth opportunities are available. 
    • Remain in on-going contact with Troop Product Sale Coordinators to support them throughout the sale. Be a liaison to council staff regarding all aspects of the product program within your service unit. 
    • Remain informed of the Position Description for the Troop Product Sale Coordinator and use as a tool for support and guidance for volunteers. 
    • Be guided in all actions by the Girl Scout Mission, Promise, and Law.
    • Ensure the Conflict/Grievance Resolution Policy in the Council Policies and Procedures for Volunteers is implemented as directed and needed.
    • Remain informed about and comply with GSUSA and GSGWM policies and procedures. 
  • Qualifications and Core Competencies:

    • Girl Focus: Empower girls to lead activities, learn by doing, and cooperate with others on current issues that involve their interests and needs, while having fun.
    • Organizational Knowledge: Must comply with current GSUSA and council- specific policies, priorities, and procedures; Have previous Girl Scout Cookie experience in another registered role; Understanding of how this position relates to and supports council goals; including developing membership and volunteer support.
    • Personal Integrity and Professional Conduct: Demonstrate dependability, honesty, credibility, maintain confidentiality, and model appropriate behavior.
    • Adaptability: Adjust or modify own behavior and remain flexible and tolerant in response to changing situations and environments.
    • Communication: Convey both written and oral communication in a clear, understandable, and appropriate manner keeping in mind the intended audience.
    • Computer skills: Access to e-mail and the Internet. Competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel).
    • Foster Diversity: Seek to understand, respect, and embrace differences.
  • Requirements

    • Become a registered member of GSUSA and successfully complete the council’s intake process, which includes a criminal background check and optional DMV check.
    • Complete required position-related training coursework as assigned and provided by GSGWM and GSUSA, including product program training.
    • Must have completed one year in their current position.
    • Sign position agreement and confidentiality agreement.
    • Opt in to GSGWM emails and communication.
    • Provide updated volunteer and contact information to Council as changes occur.
    • Provide updated information that may affect background screening results to Council.
    • Keep up to date and comply with GSUSA and GSGWM policies and procedures and safety guidelines, and procedures.
  • Council will provide

    • A copy of Policies and Procedures for Volunteers (available at girlscoutsgwm.org).
    • Orientation, learning opportunities, and resources to prepare volunteer for the position.
    • Ongoing support, guidance, and feedback.
    • Collateral materials for troops in service unit to participate in the product program. 
    • Recognition for contributions to Council and Girl Scouting.
    • Liability insurance and supplementary accident insurance as part of GSUSA/council membership. 
  • I acknowledge that:

    • My Cookie Community Product Sale Coordinator position is voluntary and I will not receive monetary compensation from either GSUSA or GSGWM.
    • A background check is required and I agree to complete this in accordance with GSGWM policies and procedures.
    • I am responsible for informing Council of any incident that occurs between backgrond check renewals that could change my status.
    • I will inform Council if I become aware of any situation that contradicts or violates our Policies, Promise, and Law.
    • Any unauthorized use or dissemination of GSUSA and GSGWM materials or communications is strictly prohibited.
    • I will opt in to all GSGWM emails and newsletters so that I can stay informed on council communications. 
  • Reappointment will be made based on availability of positions, a satisfactory performance evaluation, and non- probationary volunteer status.


    I understand that by signing this position agreement, I am agreeing to all responsibilities and duties as listed for the duration of my position. The position can be renewed annually by Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains. The position can be terminated at any point by volunteer or Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains.

    I agree to fulfill all above requirements and responsibilities as listed.
