Below is a list of activities that EFAO board and staff are planning to undertake over the coming year in support of their commitment to anti-racism, equity, diversity, and inclusion. EFAO would love to hear your thoughts and feedback! What should be added, removed or adapted?
- Hiring a BIPOC consultant to help with this work. - Building relationships with and receiving feedback from BIPOC members and farmers, and BIPOC-led organizations. - Increasing the number of BIPOC speakers at the conference, events and contributors in the newsletter. - Inviting Black, Indigenous and people of colour to join the board. - Review hiring and outreach practices to be more inclusive. - Committing to ongoing staff and board training in anti-racism. - Providing and encouraging anti-racism training for members. - Surveying and better understanding member demographics. - Developing a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee, Action Plan, and Policy.
