  • The Massage Envy (ME) Cooperative Training Program (MECTP) is designed to increase the staffing capabilities of trained and qualified professionals for the Massage Therapist position. MECTP is based on an "apprenticeship-type" model combining academic education with on-the-job workforce applications. MECTP is a three-way partnership among ME, the employee/student and The Professional Massage Academy (PMA).

    COOPERATIVE TRAINING GOALS

    ► Launch the MECTP that aligns academic and on-the-job learning through the PMA for future ME employees.

    ► Provide future ME employees enrolled in the Massage Therapy Program at PMA Cooperative Training Tuition Reimbursement of $3,500.

    ► Partner to recruit employees/students into the MECTP.

     

    THE MASSAGE ENVY  COOPERATIVE TRAINING PROGRAM - MECTP

    Massage Therapy Program Overview

    Program Overview: The Massage Therapy Program involves 425 hours of Online academic work, 30 hours of hands-on instructor training, 45 hours of friends and family practice massages  and 100 hours of on-the-job training. The objective of the Massage Therapy Program Is to emphasize skills and knowledge for entry-level employment as a massage therapist. Successful graduates of the program will:

    ► Demonstrate industry appropriate entry-level massage and bodywork techniques through hands-on application.

    ► Identify appropriate client condition for massage or bodywork.

    ► Assess client movement and behavior and develop industry-appropriate massage and bodywork treatment plans.

    ► Exhibit industry-specific personal and professional boundaries in the work setting.

    ► Identify the massage therapy licensing laws, rules and regulations specific to the student's state of residence.

    ► Explain compliancy rules regarding health regulatory agencies and universal health precautions.

    ► Analyze basic anatomy, physiology, pathology and kinesiology concepts in relation to massage and bodywork.

     

    Student/Employee Requirements:

    ► Employees/Students must meet the Massage Envy franchised location hiring standards, be able to pass a background check and be hired by Massage Envy franchised location.

    ► Employees/students must meet all applicable admissions requirements for the Massage Therapy Program and are subject to all policies and standards outlined in the PMA Course Catalog.

    ► Employees/Students must complete the program in the required time frame with an 80% attendance and a 70% overall grade to be eligible for MECTP.

    ► Employees/Students are required to commit to working a minimum of two years full-time for Massage Envy franchised location.

    ► Upon completing 500 hours of academic training (425 Online, 30 hands on training and 45 friends and family), employees/students are required to complete a 10O-hour externship at Massage Envy franchised location.

    ► Employees/Students must perform a minimum of 30 massage hours at the same Massage Envy franchised location clinic each week as a professional.

    ► Employees/students must successfully complete the Massage Therapy Program to maintain employment.

    ► Employees/Students who fall to complete the Massage Therapy Program will be required to repay any tuition reimbursement monies awarded by Massage Envy franchised location back to Massage Envy franchised location.

    ► Employees/students will be responsible for tuition and fees beyond MECTP.

     

    Cost Structure

    ► Massage Envy will provide a tuition reimbursement of $3,500.

    ► The $3,500 tuition reimbursement from Massage Envy franchised location to be awarded in

    $1,000 increments to Employees/Students after successfully fulfilling 700 service hours, 1,400 service hours.$1,500 increment after completing 2,000 service hours and two years of full-time employment.
