The Diamond Peak Ski Team (DPST) is operated by the Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation (DPSEF), which is a nonprofit organization independent of the Incline Village Gen. Improvement District (IVGID), which owns and operates the Diamond Peak Ski Resort (DPSR). DPSR and other ski resorts where DPST members may participate in events and outings have their own published COVID-19 requirements. In addition to the resorts’ respective COVID-19 requirements, your participation in all DPST training activities requires adherence to the following DPST COVID-19 protocols:
Check-in Protocol
- Daily completion of online COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire
- COVID Coordinators on-site for each ski team group
- Confirm completion and status of self-screening
- Physically checks-in all individuals (athlete, staff, volunteers) for contact tracing needs
Team Training Plan
On hill training will be operated in small groups (cohorts) for the season including athletes, coaches, and volunteers
- DPST requires a double-layer face covering be worn the entire time you are at the resort for training unless eating or drinking. This means the double layer face covering must be worn over your nose and mouth, while in the parking lot, in lift lines, in the lodge or bathroom facilities, on the chairlift, and while skiing.
- Aligned with group size and social distancing requirements
- Reduces risk of shutting down the entire program due to COVID-19 exposure
Exclusion Guidelines
DPST will follow the COVID-19 strategy set by the CDC which is time-based, time-since-illness-onset, and time-since-recovery. We are monitoring the following scenarios:
- COVID-19 Positive Diagnosis
- Close Contact exposure to positive COVID-19
- “Yes” to a question on the COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire
COVID-19 Positive Diagnosis
In the case of a positive diagnosis of COVID-19 (individual or household), patients with mild to moderate illness who are not severely immunocompromised or persons with COVID-19 who have symptoms and were able to care for themselves at home may discontinue isolation under the following conditions:
- At least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared and
- At least 24 hours have passed since the last fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and
- Symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath) have improved
Note: For patients who are not severely immunocompromised and who were asymptomatic throughout their infection, transmission-based precautions and home isolation may be discontinued when at least 10 days have passed since the date of their first positive viral diagnostic test.
A negative test does NOT shorten an exclusion period.
Close Contact Exposure to Positive COVID-19
In the case of close contact with a confirmed positive case of COVID-19 (individual or household), DPST will exclude the individual from training while they remain in quarantine for at least 10 days from the date when they were exposed.
- If the individual is cohabitating with a confirmed case, they should self-isolate indefinitely until at least 10 days after the positive case was cleared
If you receive a negative test result after an exposure, you must fulfill your 10-day quarantine.
COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire
If COVID-19 symptoms are reported for an individual or the individual’s household during the screening process - do not attend training and contact the DPST COVID TEAM 775-832-1176.
- Do not assume you have allergies. Any symptoms should be considered COVID-19 until proven otherwise.
- If an individual has symptoms and no test, they will be excluded based on the COVID Team’s discretion.
- The individual may not return if they have had a fever or diarrhea in the last 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducers).
If symptoms are reported during training, the individual will be isolated until they can be picked up. The DPST COVID team will follow up via phone.
A negative test does NOT shorten an exclusion period.
COVID-19 Refund Policy
The 2020-2021 Diamond Peak Ski Team COVID-19 refund policy (minus third-party processing fee) for impact due to COVID-19 is as follows
- Ski Season Cancellation due to CDC/State/County/IVGID decisions – DPST will issue a full refund upon official season cancelation. You will have the option to defer any applicable refund toward the 2021-2022 Ski Team Season.
- Ski Season shortened due to CDC/State/County/IVGID – DPSEF will provide refunds as follows:

I agree to always provide full, complete and accurate answers to the best of my knowledge and ability in response to the COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire, and in my communications with the DPST COVID Team, and the DPST COVID Coordinators. I understand that providing inaccurate screening or diagnosis information creates a health and safety risk to myself and others, and may cause consequential damage to DPSEF. I also understand that providing inaccurate screening or diagnosis information is grounds for being removed from the Diamond Peak Ski Team with no refund.
I have read and agree to adhere to the DPST COVID-19 Protocols.
I will read and adhere to the Diamond Peak Ski Resort’s COVID FAQ: Know Before You Go, as updated throughout the Winter season, found at https://www.diamondpeak.com/plan/covid-faq and the COVID protocols for any other ski resorts I may visit as a member of the Diamond Peak Ski Team.
