  • Coastal Alabama Community College recognizes the financial barriers that first time non-traditional students face when trying to pursue an education. Mrs. Amy Wright Rowell, Director of Financial Aid, was an advocate for all students but especially for the non-traditional student. Being a non-traditional student herself she recognized all the difficulties and frustrations that students can have. For many years Mrs. Rowell sought to have a scholarship for non-traditional students. The CAFTENT is a result of her hard work and dedication, not only to Coastal Alabama Community College, but to all of our students. It would be Mrs. Rowell’s hope that the students who receive the CAFTENT would be successful with their college studies and future work pursuits. Mrs. Rowell, a devoted member of our financial aid staff for 25 years, passed away in 2020. In her memory, the Coastal Alabama Scholarship Committee is pleased to offer the Coastal Alabama First Time Enrolled Non-Traditional Scholarship.
