Trainee Scholar Awards recognizes excellence in research for ASIP Trainee members (Undergraduate Students, Pre- and Post-Doctoral Trainees). The awardee is selected based upon the scientific merit of their submitted abstract and their abstract will be selected for presentation in a poster session and/or minisymposia.
Failure to submit these documents will result in disqualification of your application.
Eligibility Requirements:
1. Be an ASIP Trainee member (Undergraduate Students, Pre- and Post-doctoral Trainees) in good standing at the time of application submission and through the dates of the meeting.
2. Submit an abstract to the ASIP 2021 Annual Meeting at Experimental Biology by the established deadline.
3. The award applicant MUST be the first author of the abstract.
4. Register for the meeting by the established deadline.
5. Attendance during the full virtual conference is mandatory. The Scholar Award will be rescinded if the awardee is not present.
Required Supporting Documentation:
1. Abstract submission to Experimental Biology 2021 to one (or more) ASIP topic categories.
2. A current copy of your Curriculum Vitae (CV) or resume.
3. A copy of your submitted abstract.
If you are applying for an Experimental Pathologist-in-Training (EPIT) Award or an Experimental Pathologist-in-Graduate Training (EPIGT) Award, please note that the following supporting documentation MUST be submitted with the Award Application:
1. Abstract submission to Experimental Biology 2021 to one (or more) ASIP topic categories.
2. A current copy of your Curriculum Vitae (CV).
3. An extended research report (not to exceed 750 words nor include more than one table and one figure).
4. A Letter of Recommendation on institutional letterhead from your Supervisor, Principal Investigator, Department Chair, or Instructor attesting to your contribution as an author and your potential as a biomedical research investigator.
