AmaWaterways has advised the following vaccination requirement:
Effective immediately and until further notice, AmaWaterways will only be welcoming guests fully vaccinated* against COVID-19 on board our ships. This vaccination update also applies to accompanied minors.
*To join an AmaWaterways river cruise, guests are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after receiving their second dose of Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca or 28 days following a single dose of Johnson & Johnson (based on EMA guidelines). AmaWaterways accepts mixed dosages of these four vaccines.
US Citizens: No visas are required for US citizens traveling for stays LESS than 90 days.
However, US citizens visiting parts of Europe may need authorization from the European Union by the end of 2022.
The EU is creating a European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS), that will require “pre-travel screening for security and migration risks of travelers benefiting from visa-free access to the Schengen area.”
The Schengen Area is a zone of 26 European countries that do not have internal borders and allow people to move between them freely, including countries such as Spain, France, Greece, Germany, Italy, and Poland.
Currently, US citizens can travel to Europe for up to 90 days without any sort of travel authorization. ETIAS will change that.
Visa-free travelers, including US citizens, will need to request ETIAS authorization before visiting the Schengen Area. They can complete an application and pay a service fee of 7 euros (about $8) online. The authorization is valid for three years.
NON-US Citizens: Please contact the Embassy for the country that issued your passport for visa and/or ETIAS requirements & assistance.
