Are you a parent, carer, family member or friend of a young person aged 12-25 years old and passionate about making a difference?
Come and join our new Family and Friends Network where you can have your say and get actively involved in helping your community!
headspace Lismore is a Family and Friends inclusive service and values the input of the supporters of young people. Not only do we aim to have young people involved in every aspect of the decision-making for our centre, but we also want to do better to learn from their family, parents, carers and friends too.
What is the purpose of the Family and Friends Network?
- Evaluate and help shape the delivery of headspace Lismore services and assist in the design and development of our centre.
- Give feedback and ideas on policies and procedures, including recruitment and staff training.
- Support our Youth Advisory Group (YAG) with planning and running youth events and other programs, including art workshops, markets, band comps, hosting headspace stalls at festivals and more.
- Give young people an opportunity to maintain involvement at the centre once they transition out of the YAG (turn 26 and are no longer in the 12-25 age bracket).
- Provide an avenue for parents/carers to continue engagement with the centre once completing the 6 week Tuning into Teen group.
