Course Description:
This year long course is offered to students submitting a portfolio of work for AP studio art credit. The students will pick a concentration in Drawing or in 2-D Media and will produce a portfolio of work that shows quality, and sustained investigation of an idea as outlined in the AP 2-D Art and Design/Drawing requirements. This course will help students build their artistic skills and will focus on the students developing their ideas around materials, composition, and content. Throughout the year, students will pick an idea to investigate, develop personal imagery, keep a sketchbook, learn how to document their work digitally, and they will be able to articulate their ideas through an artist’s statement. Students will need to submit the following portfolio in the spring to the AP Board:
