In collaboration with the Washington University School of Medicine, Fluidigm has developed a diagnostic molecular test, Advanta DX SARS-CoV-2 RT PCR assay, for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 in saliva specimens. This test has been approved for Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) by the FDA. This non-invasive PCR test requires each student to provide a small saliva sample into a sterile container under the supervision of a healthcare provider. These samples will be securely packed and delivered to Helix Laboratories for diagnostic testing.
John Burroughs School is offering this test to the entire student body on either Sunday, January 3rd or Monday, January 4th during allotted times. (Students who have had COVID-19 disease within 90 days are exempt.)
All test results will be sent directly to John Burroughs School via a secure portal. Upon receipt of results, families will be notified as soon as possible with positive test results taking priority. Test results and testing information will be kept confidential by the school except as required by law. All positive test results will be reported to the St. Louis County Health Department.
Completing and signing of this form serves as consent for the test to be performed on the named individual and also is an acknowledgement of the above statements.
