Senior Marketing Co-ordinator
Salary: £28 - 35k base plus bonus
Location: Stone, Staffordshire
This is a rare chance to take on a marketing co-ordination role where what you do will make a measurable difference.
You’ll join a small recruitment business that, over four years, has built a big reputation in the data science sector. Part of a ten-strong team, you’ll be our very first marketing hire – vital source support for our CEO who currently orchestrates all our marketing activity.
It’s a highly visible, valuable role. You’ll clearly see the impact you make – on our brand awareness and in the new clients, we bring in. Perhaps that’s the kind of accountability you’re missing if you’ve been working with a big company or a cog in a wider marketing team.
What you can add
In a nutshell, you’ll co-ordinate all our marketing activity – anything that helps us enhance our reputation as the experts in data science recruitment.
There’s a lot to do – a lot to learn.
Top of your list: growing the listenership of our new podcast. We’re excited about the podcast; there’s plenty of potential here. You’ll help us develop a strong presence on social media – from YouTube and LinkedIn to Kaggle and Stack Overflow– as well as liaising with external agencies to create PPC campaigns and turn podcast content into engaging written articles.
Alongside that, you’ll co-ordinate the distribution of online content. That could mean sourcing and sharing industry news, researching and recommending marketing collateral or planning and delivering direct mail campaigns.
You’ll use your judgement to identify sales material that works across different media and to find content providers who can crystalise our offer. Confidently managing relationships with external suppliers is another aspect of the role – we already work with an ad agency and a CRO company.
Last but not least, you’ll support the CEO and by providing planning, reporting and research that informs our marketing strategy and help us to measure and monitor its effectiveness – a chance to develop your strategic skills.
All in all, it’s an ideal role for a marketing generalist who wants to build their practical skills and develop their strategic understanding. As we grow, you could progress with us to a recruitment project management role or, in time, a marketing manager role.
Reasons to join us
We’re helping clients to solve their most difficult problems – recruiting – so they really value what we do. We’ve built our reputation (and our client base) by working with integrity and intelligence. That makes marketing us all the more satisfying – you’re putting forward positive, precise propositions not pumping out ‘hot air’.
We’re a good employer. You’ll be treated like a grown-up, whether that means being given the flexibility to work out of the office, when projects allow or supported to develop. Everyone gets a company pension, private medical insurance and an annual bonus, based on the growth of the company.
Data science is a fascinating, fast-growing sector to be part of. More and more companies are looking for data scientists to help them crack complex problems, to understand their customers better, and to sharpen their strategy.
Reasons not to join us
You think ‘training’ is a chance to have a day out of the office. We believe that the more you learn, the more you grow – and the more you earn. Learning isn’t an option; it’s essential – we give all our employees a £3,000 annual training budget. If you share our growth mindset, you can flourish here.
You see yourself exclusively as an ‘ideas person’. When you’re talking to data scientists, precision matters, so alongside creativity, you’ll need laser-like focus and strong attention to detail. Remember, your role is to support the CEO. There are a lot of plates to keep spinning; you can’t bluff your way through.
