$12/per hour with a proposed cost of living increase. Annual merit bonuses are based on employee evaluation and recommendation. |
FUNCTION |
- To reduce the instances of communicable disease among program participants through the provision of transportation and PPE
- To coordinate with the Life Changing Strategies workforce development project to ensure participants are safely transported to appointments and job-related activities.
- To coordinate with the New Beginnings prisoner reentry project to ensure participants are safely transported to required appointments and reentry related activities.
- To serve as an alternative driver for supply delivery

RESPONSIBILITIES |
Supports operations and administration of the organization by coordinating transportation needs of program participants
- Coordinate with program participants, Career Navigators and House Managers in scheduling of transportation
- Remain knowledge and educate program participants of alternate transportation sources such as Flex Ride, etc.
- Provide communicable disease safety kits to riders as necessary
- Driving responsibilities
- Follow all traffic laws
- Drive defensively to ensure safety
- Keep all windows in the vehicle clean
- Keep the interior of the vehicle clean
- Ensure vehicle is in good working order
- Ensure fuel is refilled when the tank reaches 50% capacity
- Keep accurate records of rider’s names, date of transportation, purpose, and beginning/ending points
- Plan route and ensure participants arrive in a timely manner
- Submit accurate time keeping and mileage forms as required
- Immediately notify supervisor of any instance when drivers license is not valid or of any traffic related incidents, tickets or loss of license
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS |
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid state driver’s license
- Have been driving for a minimum of five years
- Time management skills
- Organizational skills
- Communication and customer attitude and attentiveness skills
- Ability to operate a vehicle for at least eight hours
- Basic vehicle maintenance skills (check oil, change tire, etc.)
- Physically able to lift 50 pounds
- Read and write the English language
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
