Would you like to make a huge difference in a rescue animal's life? Or have you considered adopting but aren't sure if a rabbit is the right furry family member for you? Fostering saves lives and is incredibly rewarding for all involved.
MC's Rabbit Rescue and Rehabilitation relies on the kindness of individuals who are willing to open their homes and hearts to a bunny in need. All supplies and information are provided. Some bunnies need a comfortable place to heal from surgery, some are experiencing what it's like to be a loved house bunny for the first time, and others need socialization to learn that humans can be amazing friends.
Foster assignments may be shortterm for surgery recovery, or longterm until a rabbit finds a forever home. Please indicate below which you are open to.
Note: At this time, foster homes must be in Oregon's Willamette Valley, preferably in the Eugene and Albany areas. Portland is considered on a case by case basis.
We provide all the supplies:
- Enclosure/xpen
- Food and hay
- Water and food bowls
- Litter box
- Tunnel or other stimulating toy
- One very lucky bunny!
Foster family provides:
- Indoor space for a 4' x 4' xpen
- Additional room to roam indoors and/or supervised outdoor playtime (in an xpen) is a welcome plus!
- Daily care (food/hay/water, litter box maintenance, tidy up their area)
- Ability to keep the foster rabbit separate from other pets, if needed (we'll let you know)
- Any toys you'd like to share or make (DIY toilet paper tube toys are great)
- Lots of love and patience!
Please note, the following are too dangerous for a bunny. If they're in your home, fostering or adopting may not be right for you:
- Dogs with a high prey drive
- Plug-in air fresheners or oil infusers
