COVID Relief Policy Briefing
Thursday, January 7, 3:00pm
Congress has finally passed COVID relief, including an unprecedented and much-needed win for the arts sector: $15 billion in dedicated grant funding for live venues, independent movie theaters, and cultural institutions. We were proud to partner with our colleagues at the National Independent Venues Association (NIVA) who led the advocacy effort for this massive win through the Save Our Stages campaign.
While the total relief package is not as expansive as it needs to be, it contains additional critical provisions for the creative sector. These multiple wins in DC show that your advocacy does work, and we will need you as we continue our efforts in the new year.
Join us on January 7th at 3pm for a closer look at this new legislation with our local policy wonk Jonathan VanderBrug and Najean Lee, Director of Government Affairs & Education Advocacy at the League of American Orchestras who was instrumental in the DC advocacy work on this relief package.
