Enrolling as a DRBIPA Member helps the park association provide environmental restoration and conservation in the parks. Members make DRBIPA possible! Membership fees and donations directly support our community-based education and conservation programming. - Voting rights at the Annual General Meeting and electing Directors to the Board.
- Providing insight and input on land stewardship, conservation, and education activities.
- Access to special members-only guided natures strolls and events.
- Invitation to the DRBIPA picnic after Derby Reach Park Day (formerly Heritage & Apple Day)
- Involvement in the community and your local regional parks.
Some of our past events for Members include:
- Expert speakers leading nature strolls and webinars on subjects such as geology, ecology, fungi, birding, history of the area, etc.
- Hands on experience controlling invasive plants, planting native species, and monitoring.
- Being part of a team that presents annual community building events such as Heritage & Apple Day or the DRBIPA Paddle.
- Taking part in the much-loved Apple Bake-Off Contest at our Annual General Meeting.
The membership fee is $10 per family/household per each calendar year, payable by cash or cheque.
Please note:
- Memberships are approved by the DRBIPA Board of Directors.
- Memberships carry over into the next calendar year, based upon receipt of the annual fee prior to the Annual General Meeting, to maintain membership in good standing.
- Members wishing to withdraw should submit resignation to DRBIPA via email or mail.
- Members will receive regular notices via email most often and rarely by mail or phone.
To become a new DRBIPA Member, please complete the following:
- Review the park association’s mission, vision, values, and the BC Societies Act.
- Submit your Membership Enrollment Form with annual $10 payment by mail or in-person.
- Receive notification upon membership acceptance via email or mail.
