Decarcerate Western Mass is a coalition of people and organizations across Western Massachusetts with the purpose of supporting incarcerated folks and getting people released. We are an abolitionist group, aiming to reduce the number of people incarcerated in jails in Western Mass.
We have limited funds and bail people out on a first-come, first-serve basis. We are currently able to pay bails up to $1000, on a case by case basis as funds are available. We are currently bailing people out from the Franklin County Jail and Hampshire County Jail. For Hampden county aka Ludlow or Chicopee Jail bails please use the Mass Bail Fund and their application form here: MBF Referral Form
If the bail you are seeking quick assistance with is $140 or less (including $40 fee) than you can text or call our phone number for a faster cash transfer: 413 213 5020. Be prepared to give this information: Name, Docket Number (if you have it), and name of court where the person is being held.
Please fill out as much information as you can; this will make it much easier for us to move forward with the bail request. Unless otherwise indicated, the questions are about the person who needs to be bailed out.
Reach out to us at wmassbail@protonmail.com with any questions.
We will be reaching out to you to get more information if we may be able to post bail. Please do not share volunteers phone numbers without consent.
