• Spiritual Roots Diagnostic Survey (Part 2)

    The following areas of investigation may point to possible curses, reasons for non-performance or demonic oppression. Please take time to prayerfully answer each question. (Grannies and mothers have proven themselves to be excellent sources of information.)

  • Area 1/11: Divination and Fortunetelling

    Seeking to foresee or foretell future events or to discover hidden knowledge; usually by the interpretation of omens or by the aid of supernatural powers (Merriam-Webster Dictionary). Divination means to obtain hidden (secret) knowledge, mostly about objects, people and events. Fortunetelling means to tell of past, present and future events.

  • Term of reference: Christian Bible

    Lev 19:26 

    You must not practice either divination or soothsaying (fortunetelling).

    Deut 18:10 -11

    There shall not be found among you anyone who 

    - makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, (e.g. satanism and various pagan religious practices)

    - or one who practices witchcraft, (witch)

    - or a soothsayer, (fortuneteller or gypsey)

    - or one who interprets omens, (diviner)

    - or a sorcerer, (one using supernatural power over others)

    - or one who conjures spells, (including sangomas, hoodoo, voodoo, white, gray, black, love, sex magic etc.)

    - or a medium, (communication with spirits by i.e. telepathy)

    - or a spiritist, (person trying to contact spirits)

    - or one who calls up the dead (necromancer).

    Deut 4:19

    And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars–all the heavenly array–do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the LORD your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven. (NIV)

  • Area 2/11: Witchcraft and Magick

    Witchcraft: the practice of magic, the use of spells and the invocation of spirits. Magick, sometimes known as sorcery, is the art of focusing your will and emotions to effect change in the world around you and the world within you. The use of energy and a person’s own will and enables them to control the natural world (including events, objects, people, and physical phenomena).

  • Terms of Reference: Christian Bible

    There are several references to witchcraft in the Bible that strongly condemn such practices. For example, Deuteronomy 18:11-12 condemns anyone who "..casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord, and because of these detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you", and Exodus 22:18 states "Do not allow a sorceress to live".     Gal 5:19-20 NIV

    (19)  The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
    (20)  idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions
    Seeking to manipulate and  control objects and people to achieve a desired outcome, witchcraft and magick are dangerous practices. Prohibited by the Bible, it can cause untold harm to generations of families.

  • Area 3/11: Spiritism and Holistic Health approaches

    Spiritism is the relationship (including communication) between spirits and human beings, i.e. the belief that the dead communicate with the living; also the practices or doctrines of those holding such a belief.

  • Holistic Health

    A wellness approach that addresses the physical, emotional/mental and spiritual (not religious) aspects of an individual. Holistic counseling or therapies (such as meditation) that involves the occult are dangerous. Holistic principles that would lead a person into occult doctrines are wicked.   • Area 4/11: False religions, Cults and Mysticism

    From a Christian point of view, the easiest way to recognise a FALSE RELIGION or CULT as that they either have a problem with the humanity of Christ, or His Deity, or both. The authority of the Bible may also be questioned or added to - It is the Bible PLUS this important revelation or that important writing. Mackenzie Wright writes on MYSTICISM: "The word "mysticism" comes from the Greek word "to conceal." In ancient Greece, mysticism referred to secret rites of esoteric religions. Mysticism now has a broader definition, and it has become associated with any occult, religious, metaphysical or spiritual activity and experience, from angels to Zen Buddhism. By its current definition, mysticism has been found throughout the ages on every continent, and persists to this day."

  • Area 5/11: Sexual Iniquities

    1 Corinthians 6:18 ESV Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. God is the creator of sex. Part of his purpose in creating sex was for our pleasure. But God also set limits for the enjoyment of sex, for our protection. When we go outside those boundaries, we enter into sexual sin.   • Area 6/11: Addictions/depending on/escapism

    To be occupied with or to be involved in something habitually or compulsively. But each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. James 1:14-15 Addictions can be heartbreaking experiences for individuals, their families, and churches. No one intentionally sets out to become a full-fledged drug addict or alcoholic. Yet despite all the warnings millions of people become addicts. Why? Because prior to that first puff, snort, or drink, the mind has already been self deceived by thinking: “I won’t become addicted, I know when to stop or I can handle a few drinks or getting high a few times.” Instances of Addictions include:

  • Area 7/11: Spilling of Blood

    Ezekiel 22:4 You are guilty of spilling blood. The statues you have made have polluted you. (NIRV) There are clear Biblical laws for the spilling of innocent blood, which is running rampant in our world today, and actually still has and will have a big impact on us. Even the New Testament talks about spilt innocent blood still crying out for justice (Rev 6:10). God says justice for spilt innocent blood will come in due time.

  • Area 8/11: Finances

    A lot of Christians are not aware of curses that are keeping them in lack and poverty in their life. Have you or an ancestor ever dealt with the occult, ever paid for psychics, mediums, spells paid for them or for others? Do you have witches or mediums or voodoo hoodoo queens or priest in your ancestory? These things can affect your finances. Was - by the power of your words or someone elses words - there placed a curse on your finances? Has someone told you that your not smart enough to earn more; or that you are too stupid to get a good job? Instances of possible financial curses may be:

    Various other activities may also help you discover occult bondage in your life. From self-hatred to extreme anxiety or fear, these indicators may point to strongholds in your life withholding you from walking free in the life God has purposed for you.

  • Area 10/11: Fear/Anxiety and Stress

    And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19 The medical community agrees that a large number of sicknesses and diseases are FAS related. Checking more than a few of these indicators may point to an inability to trust God or others - or even to an underlying spirit of fear controlling your life.

  • Area 11/11: Diseases and Curses

    Many of our diseases are being used by God to bring to the surface what is in our hearts. But let me say this very clearly, God did not give you a disease. The disease is the manifestation from a heart condition, just as a fever is an indication that something is amiss in our bodies. These are warning signs. "Come let us reason together says the Lord, though your sins be as scarlet they shall be white as snow, though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." (Isaiah 1:18) Which of the following diseases occur in your family? Plotting a line may clearly reveal a generational curse or the root problem - not only of the disease - but of the area causing it in the first place.
