400+1 is a federation oriented toward revolution by any means necessary. We believe that the Black masses' relationship to systems of oppression and institutions of harm must be physically disrupted, if we are to see mass mobilization toward revolution any time soon. This means that we are not always in alignment with the mass line. Some folx see this as accelerationism or adventurism. What are your thoughts and feelings about this?

400+1's vanguard is a group of voluntary martyrs. One of our greatest challenges is balancing the type of healing, self care, and spiritual hygiene work required of revolutionaries with the kind of harm, sacrifice, and trauma that we must willingly subject ourselves to to do our jobs. How would you respond to this challenge and in what ways would this dichotomy impact you, specifically?

Being a member of 400+1's vanguard can be extremely isolating. While you'll always have your comrades, this is a small ecology and that can sometimes result in feelings of claustrophobia. Do you think you're well equipped to manage this experience? Why?

One of the primary reasons cited for the suspension or expulsion of previous vanguard members is emotional immaturity, unacknowledged maladaptive behavior, and interpersonal harm. 400+1 has a high standard for internal accountability, radical love, and radical kindness. Please describe your capacity for engaging in this way.

Help us imagine your collective placement. In what are you most interested?
I'm most interested in undergirding the every day operations of revolutionary struggle. I want to code, type, balance budgets, troubleshoot interpersonal challenges, organize labor, and support executive leadership.
I'm most interested in leveraging my creative expression, charismatic and inspiring presence, and extraordinary courage to be a living example of a revolutionary and martyr.I am willing to take the highest risks, sacrifice the most, and be the most visible in a revolutionary ecology.
I'm most interested in creating procedures that keep people safe, resource revolutionaries, and ensure that missions go smoothly.
I'm most interested in offering political education, developing rehabilitation programs, doing deep culture work, and offering spiritual leadership for Black people living off the grid in an intentional community.
I'm most interested in working in pre-existing Black communities, responding to the needs of every day Black people, and funneling as many Black, working class people to revolutionary struggle as I can.

Help us imagine your collective placement. Which of these descriptions best fit you?
I'm extremely pragmatic. I enjoy routine. I am not looking for adventure in my work. I want to do something small everyday that I know is helpful to revolutionary struggle.
I'm a restless spirit. I enjoy constant travel, constant change, and perpetual challenge. I want to make a big impact and be remembered for my contribution. I can understand and communicate complex theory and have a high capacity for study. I am not attached to a long life and would be comfortable organizing as an incarcerated person. I have the capacity for intense, physical training.
I'm extremely dynamic; intellectually and emotionally. I enjoy playing a background role in big efforts. I get things done without much micromanagement and can work well within a team or as an individual. I like puzzles, comms, and helping others shine.
I'm a family-oriented, community-oriented person who is interested in creating the infrastructure for a free tribe of Black maroons to exist. I believe that the key to freedom is spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical wellness. I'm connected to spiritual traditions and magic. I'm passionate about working with nature and the earth. I want to exist in a more aligned and balanced environment right now and I want to make that possible for others as well.
I'm a big hearted, mutual aid loving, community gathering hosting, block walking revolutionary. I am most drawn to meeting people where they are, exposing the contradictions in their indoctrination, and drawing connections between their current material condition and systemic oppression.
