• Fast Forward Planning Grant Application

    A lead regional secondary school system in each Regional Labor Market Area (RMLA) has the opportunity to apply for a $50,000 planning grant to develop and pilot a dual degree programs. These programs will allow students to earn either a Jump Start TOPS Tech Career Diploma or a TOPS University Diploma while dually earning an associate degree or participating in a pre-apprenticeship/apprenticeship that either prepares graduates for career or continuing postsecondary education. The applications deadline is February 10, 2021. Questions should be directed to stephanie.marcum@la.gov.
  • School System Information

    Use the officially state recognized name of the school system. The contact should be the person responsible for coordinating and leading the planning process for the grant.
  • Postsecondary/Apprenticeship Partner(s)

    Only one postsecondary partner is required, but if there is more than one or an optional apprenticeship partner, fill out the information for the additional partner(s). Use the full name of the institution(s). The contacts should be the person(s) responsible for leading the collaboration and planning process for the grant. Optional apprenticeship partners should be state recognized.
  • Regional Labor Market Area (RLMA)

    One school system in each RLMA will be selected to receive a planning grant. A labor market analysis should be part of the rationale for each of the proposed Fast Forward Pathways. One labor organization in th RMLA should be a planning parnter for the grant.

  • Business and Industry Partners

    Each applicant should have business and industry partners that participate in planning and align to high-demand/high-wage jobs in the RMLA.

    Grants will be awarded based on the potential to work collaboratively to create meaningful pathways.
