    2021 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION Must be Received by Wednesday, March 31, 2021 

    Scholarship Application General Instructions:

    Part 1:Must be an African American Female High School Senior

    Part 2: Must reside in Nashville Alumnae Chapter’s Service Area which includes the following six counties: Davidson, Cheatham, Robertson,Sumner, Wilson, and Williamson.

    Part 3: In five hundred (500) words or less, tell us about yourself, discuss your future plans and aspirations. Identify any financial need that you may have and include other pertinent information. (i.e. school activities, community service, church involvement, awards, honors, colleges/universities applying to, and prospective college major.Please type and sign in pen/ink (digital signatures acceptable).

    Part 4: Provide two (2) letters of recommendation, one from a school official where you attend school and one from a public service organization or a church outreach* program in which you are actively involved **(within the past 3 years).

    **A paid volunteer program isn’t acceptable. Recommendations must be on official letterhead of the school and community organization or program. (Recommendation letters must be signed in pen/ink - digital signatures acceptable).

    Recommendation letters can be emailed to: scholarships@nashvillealumnae.com  by the person writing the letter.

    Part 5: Provide a copy of your official high school transcript **(Signed by the Counselor – digital signatures acceptable)** showing seven semesters of grades and current classes. A minimum cumulative un-weighted GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.

    Official transcript can be emailed by the Counselor ONLY to: scholarships@nashvillealumnae.com If the high school transcript does not reflect an ACT or SAT scores, please furnish a copy of your ACT or SAT scores. Please consider completing the Jot Form, however, completed applications can be mailed:

    **Church outreach is community service performed OUTSIDE your regular church activities. Some possibilities (but not limited to) would be regular participation in or coordinating – a church feeding ministry, a tutoring program, leadership church camps, mentoring programs, participating in special church committee assignments (AIDS, Breast Cancer awareness, Homelessness).

    Singing in the choir, serving as an usher, or a greeter at church is not Community Outreach.
