      Please Read Before Completing Application:

      Work-Study awards cover the full cost of a single class and require a regular commitment of hours performing administrative, maintenance, or production tasks. Your ability to keep to that schedule is an important prerequisite.

      Scholarship awards provide partial support for a class enrollment.

      New students to the studio will be required to audition. 

      Key student positions are also available, per faculty recommendation, but are not covered by this application. Please contact your instructor if you are interested in serving as a key for their class. 

      Please allow up to a month after the application deadline for notification on your application status.

      F-1 International Students must have completed 1 full term of study at HB Studio before applying for a scholarship or work-study position.

    • Work-Study Application 

      Studio Assistants (SA) are an important part of HB Studio. In this work study program, students will be eligible for a free class during the current term in exchange for help with administrative duties, maintenance, and other tasks around the studio. SAs are selected through this online submission process. Please keep in mind that in order to be eligible for work study you must be reliable, responsible, and committed during your time at HB Studio. Work study requires 4 scheduled hours per week during the length of the current term (40 hours total). 

      Note: All students who are selected for work-study are also required to participate in HB Studio's annual Spring Clean Up.

    • Scholarship Application

      Scholarships support full or partial costs for enrolling in one  class. Applicants may be asked to audition for consideration. If you are awarded a scholarship, you are required to register by the first day of the Spring Term, Monday, March 15, 2021. Failure to utilize your scholarship by this date may result in forfeiture.

       
      HB Studio Scholarships are awarded through consideration of both merit and need. Scholarships are given with the expectation that those supported will lead their fellows in attendance, preparation, and demonstration of full commitment to their work in class.

    • Recommendation

      A recommendation is required if you have previously studied at HB Studio. If you are or have been enrolled in classes at HB Studio, please provide the name of a faculty member of HB Studio who can speak about your commitment and the quality of your work. Please be sure to get permission from your recommender to use their name; we will be contacting them for a statement. If you are new to HB Studio, and wish to receive financial aid, please skip this section of the application. As a new student, please note, you will be contacted at a later time to audition for a faculty panel.
