Letter of Support: Guidelines For Faculty
You will receive a JotForm through your email from the student applying for the summer research grant. You will be asked to approve or deny the application and answer the following questions. The form will then go to Lori Flatto, administrative assistant to the Dean of Academic Life.
Completed applications are due by 4 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023.
In support for the student applying for a summer research grant, please be sure to address the following:
- Is the student’s project, as described in the proposal, feasible? Can significant progress be made in the 8-week period of the grant?
- What do you judge to be the significance of the project?
- What distinguishes this work from that of a usual independent study? In what way does it merit a grant?
- What personal characteristics does the student possess that make you confident s/he can successfully meet the stated goals?
