  • Introduction

  • Veterinary Requirements

For virtual services, we do not require any vaccination records. However we highly recommend that clients have their dogs up to date on all legally required vaccinations before beginning any training with us.

In our on-going effort to provide you and your dog’s with the best care and service possible as well as provide a clean and healthy environment for all, we require ALL dogs that participate in any activity at our Freedom Dog Training & Boarding facility provide proof of the following veterinary records from a licensed veterinarian.

For puppies 5 months and younger

    a) rabies vaccination no later than 16 weeks of age

    b) age appropriate distemper/parvo combo shots

    c) negative fecal within 30 days of the first appointment and then updated every six months thereafter

For dog 6 months and older:

    a) rabies vaccination (1 or 3 years)

    b) distemper/parvo combo (1yr, 3 yrs or a yearly titer)

    c) negative fecal within 6 months of the first appointment and then updated every six months thereafter

If your dog tests positive for on their fecal, they need to be treated.  After treatment, a new fecal test will be needed to make sure the treatment has worked.  Some parasites require more than one round of treatment to get rid of them.

We don't require the bordetella vaccine but Client is welcome to have their dog vaccinated with bordetella. Client understands that even if Client's dog is vaccinated against kennel cough (bordetella) or not vaccinated, there is a chance that the owner's dog can still contract kennel cough.

We appreciate your willingness to help us keep our facility as clean and safe as possible for the enjoyment of all.

Freedom Dog Training & Boarding will endeavor to create as safe as environment as possible for the training, boarding, care, custody and control of the dog(s) identified in forms, contracts or other means (hereinafter the “Dog”), and will offer only sound, safe and responsible training, care, and post-training instructions. Owner agrees that any animal may exhibit unpredictable behaviors and that Freedom Dog Training & Boarding will not be liable for the actions of the Dog that are outside the control of Freedom Dog Training & Boarding. Owner agrees that the recommendation of Freedom Dog Training & Boarding of any product or service is not a guarantee of performance of Owner’s satisfaction with that product or service.

Owner acknowledges and agrees that owning any animal, including the Dog, has inherent risks, including but not limited to the risk of dog bites to Owner, people or animals. Owner is responsible for the cost of any veterinary care and insurance deductible required during the time the Dog is engaged in the program. Owner is also responsible for the cost of any veterinary care that may be required subsequent to the boot camp program for injuries or ailments that may have occurred during boarding, a board and train program, day camp, day training or any other program where the dog is in our care.

Owner fully understands the tools and techniques that are sued to train and modify the behavior of their Dog and agrees to the tools and techniques which include, but are not limited to, the following: flat collars, martingale collars, slip collars, head collars, haltis, transitional leads, prong collars, bark collars, remote training collars, bonkers, muzzles, slip lead, dominant dog collar, long lines, mats, crates, treadmills, agility equipment, pet convincer, squirt bottles, remote treat dispenser, treats, your dog’s regular food, our dogs (and Romeo, the dog training cat!), toys, etc. Owner will follow all instructions for equipment and will not leave equipment on Dog while unattended or overnight. Owner agrees that, although the trainers will provide instruction and depending on which service is being used provide equipment for the training of Dog, owners is responsible for maintaining control of Dog and is responsible for the successful training, control and conduct of Dog at all times.

Owner understands that their dog entering a social setting with other dogs means that spats and small injuries, although rare, do happen from time to time. Freedom Dog Training & Boarding does everything in their power to reduce the risk of and prevent injury, but sometimes dogs do receive injury and some of those may require veterinary attention. This is an inherent risk in dog socialization. Owners is clear about these risks and understand that Freedom Dog Training & Boarding does everything in their power to prevent any and ideally all incidents with a high degree of care, and that we provide immediate vet attention when needed. This is all at the risk and cost of the owner.

Owner understands that by enrolling their dog in a dog training program where they will be around other dogs and training in public areas increases the risks of exposing their dog to germs and other normally contagious illnesses. Freedom Dog Training & Boarding takes cleanliness seriously, but just like human daycares and playgrounds, eliminating 100% of the chance of things like kennel cough are impossible. As a result, Freedom Dog Training & Boarding asks the client to take responsibility of all illnesses that may be contracted. Owner also understands that during the course of daily training there is a higher level of activity for their dog which may result in weight loss or less typical wear to their dog’s feet (i.e. rough paw pads or broken nails, etc.). Freedom Dog Training & Boarding will monitor these issues closely but will not be responsible for any expenses associated with treatment for these conditions.

This Service Agreement covers the relationship between Owner and Freedom Dog Training & Boarding each time owner receives services from Freedom Dog Training & Boarding. Owner affirms the terms of this Service Agreement and the truthfulness and accuracy of all statements Owner has made regarding Owner and Dog/s. You (the Dog Owner) acknowledge and understand that there are certain risks involved in dog training, boarding and care. You hereby release and agree to hold Freedom Dog Training & Boarding, its owners employees, family, guests, visitors, associates and agents harmless from any and all manner of injuries or death, damages, claims losses, liabilities, costs or expenses, causes of action or suits, whatsoever in law or equity (including, without limitation, attorney’s fees and related costs) arising out of or related to any services provided by Freedom Dog Training & Boarding, its owners, employees, associates, or agents, even under terms and situations of gross neglect.

Services will not be provided by Freedom Dog Training & Boarding without your complete agreement with the Service Agreement. Your signature conveys you understand and agree to all content and conditions specified within the Service Agreement. Terms and conditions of this Service Agreement may not be changed or updated. You are solely responsible for any expenses attributed to your Dog’s destructive or aggressive behavior. Further, by entering into this agreement, you agree to indemnify, defend, protect and hold Freedom Dog Training & Boarding, its owners, employees, associates and agents harmless from and against any and all damages, claims, losses, costs, liabilities or expenses (including, but not limited to, injuries to any person/animal or destruction of any property) arising out of your dog’s behavior, regardless of whether or not your dog has exhibited such behavior in the past or the actions or inactions of Freedom Dog Training & Boarding, its owners, employees, associates or agents.

If Dog is aggressive, Freedom Dog Training & Boarding will determine if a muzzle will be necessary for training and if decided to use a muzzle, Owner agrees to provide the muzzle, use in training and are responsible for avoiding potentially problematic situations. As a force majeure, in case of (1) unforeseeable event, (2) outside of the parties’ control, that (3) renders performance impossible or impractical, Freedom Dog Training & Boarding will do our best to continue training your dog. This may mean moving to virtual video training sessions.

Service Dog Waiver: Not every dog has what it takes to be a service dog. During our Service Dog Training Program, we will train your dog and evaluate your dog for service dog workability. Enrolling in this program does not automatically elevate your dog to a service dog or service dog in training status. Your dog must be free of any behavior issues that would prevent your dog from being your service dog (fear, aggression, reactivity, etc…). Your dog must be rock sold around people, dogs, and distractions. Service dog are not behavioral project dogs. If your dog does have behavior issues, we will spend our time addressing those, not on service dog work.

Grooming: Your dog must have a short “kennel cut” while with us. Your dog is here for training, and when we do spend some time grooming, that is less time spent training, either your dog will need more time with us, or will learn less. If we need to groom your dog, there will be a minimum of $100 fee added each time.

You authorize Freedom Dog Training & Boarding to conduct this training and to take your dog to specific places as required. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due to reserve your spot for a board and train program and the remainder is due when you drop your dog off. If you do not pick your dog up on their go home date, their board and train will continue at $75/day. There are no refunds for board and train funds.

  • Group and Socialization Class Waiver

I, the undersigned, have enrolled myself and my dog in dog training classes, private consultations, workshops, classes or other related activities offered by Freedom Dog Training & Boarding, Inc..

By signing hereunder, I certify that I have been informed and understand that there is always some unavoidable risk of injury involved when working with animals, especially animals with behavioral issues. I acknowledge that dogs can be inherently difficult to control and that not all dogs will be under control at all times resulting in the possibility of injury to myself, my dog, my family members, or third parties. Additionally, I have had full opportunity to discuss all concerns I have about the foregoing risks with Freedom Dog Training & Boarding, Inc. and its authorized representatives. I have also made all inquiries and investigations to my satisfaction related to such risks, including, but not limited to, an examination of the training area (if applicable).

I hereby accept and assume, without reservation, all risks associated with my participation in the Classes, including, but not limited to: the risks of any and all injuries to myself, my dog and any of my family members or third parties who may attend; the risks that my dog may cause injury to other persons and/or dogs involved in the Classes; and the risks that saliva, water, food, snow and/or other debris may be present in the training area.

This Waiver of Liability & Informed Consent Release shall be legally binding on the Releasing Party. Should the Releasing Party assert a claim to the contrary to what I have agreed to in this Waiver of Liability and Informed Consent Release, the claiming party shall be liable for all expenses (including attorney’s fees, court costs and consultant fees) incurred by both the Releasing Party and the Released Party. No waiver or modification of any provision herein shall be valid unless expressly agreed to in writing by both the Released Party and the Releasing Party.

I hereby consent to my dog and I being the subject of the photographs and/or audiovisual recording and authorize Freedom Dog Training & Boarding, Inc. and Nicole LaVarier to cause the same to be exhibited for educational purposes as still photographs, transparencies, motion pictures, television, video or other similar media. Every provision herein is intended to be severable. If any one or more of the provisions herein is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that shall not affect the other terms and provisions hereof, which shall remain binding and enforceable.

  • General Private Lesson/ Group Class Guidelines

    1. Don't feed your dog a meal but rather bring your dog's meal and some treats with you for training.

    2. Pease arrive about 10 minutes early to the class location, unload, warm up your dog and prepare for class. Only one dog per person. Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 that are legally responsible for the minor. Young handlers are allowed to work the dog as long as they have control.

    3. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes to class. Also dress for both outside and inside. We may be training in one, the other or both.

    4. Do not leave your dog unattended or allow your dog to sniff and/or visit other dogs. Be respectful of any dogs in crates or kennels and do not approach them.

    5. Dogs need to be on training equipment when they come (transitional leash, prong collar, ecollar, halti, martingale, slip lead) No flat collars, harnesses, or flexi/retractable leashes as training equipment. Flat collars can be used as backup collars.

    6. No on leash greetings even if your dog is friendly, please give other dogs space when coming, going and during class.

    • Some dogs need space
    • We don't want leashes to become tangled or dropped

    7. Do not interact with other people's dogs, even if you know them, and follow the "no touch, no talk, no eye-contact" rule if/when approached by a dog. Remember owners are working on having their dog pay more attention to them, so help out your fellow group classmates by ignoring their dog. However feel free to strike up a conversation with a person about their dog!

    8. Do not bring a sick dog to class.

    9. If you have a female in heat, she may attend class but must come wearing britches. No females in heat at all in the dog socialization classes or Play & Train.

    10. We have water bowls at our location that dogs may drink from. If class is held at another location please bring water for your dog, especially on hot days.

    11. Please pick up your dog's poop. We have a pooper scooper at our location. Also please do not let your dog mark on our flowers, bushes, trees and other items besides grass. Our training property is also OUR HOME. If it's a field trip class, please bring poop bags and pick up your dog's waste.

    12. Children in Class: We are happy to have family members and children attend our classes. In order to make it a fun and safe experience for everyone in class, please review our guidelines:

    • Children 7 and under must have their own adult.
    • Children must remain with the parents and under parental control at all times.
    • Parents must supervise their children for the entire class.
    • Children are not permitted to run, yell or otherwise act disruptively in the classroom.
    • Do not allow children to visit with other dogs or get near crated dogs or play on equipment
    • Children can get bored during class. Please bring quiet toys or activities to keep them entertained.

    13. For Play & Train, Puppy/Small Dog Social and Large Dog Social, any children under the age of 13, will stay outside the socialization pen and not be allowed to come in. Please note that in Play & Train we will not always be in one place. For example, we may start in the field and go off leash hiking in the woods so it is advisable that children under the age of 13 either stay home or have an adult that can stay back with them when we go off road.
