QUALIFICATION/CRITERION FOR SELECTION:
Outstanding contributor to education and/or to the general welfare of Maine's students and schools.
AWARD:
Recognition by the Maine Principals' Association.
ELIGIBILITY:
- Must be a resident of Maine and at least 21 years of age.
- Must not be a member of the MPA.
- May not be recognized for service for which they are paid.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
- Any MPA member may nominate any individual in the state.
- Nominations are to be submitted to the Maine Principals' Association. The nomination package should contain: a.) The completed nomination form and b.)Three states of support from professional colleagues, personal references, or community members.
- The selection of an individual who has made an "outstanding contribution serving youth" will be made by the MPA staff. One individual will be selected to receive the 2027 Volunteer of the Year, Service to Maine Youth Award.
DEADLINE:
March 6, 2026 (by noon) - Completed nomination package must be submitted electronically to the MPA Office.
INFORMATION:
Presentation of this award will be made later in the Spring of 2027. One recipient will be honored. That recipient will receive an appropriate plaque and media recognition.
