• Idaho Humane Society Foundation Skills Class

  • In this 6 week course, you will learn how to teach your dog new behaviors, work through difficulties with distractions, and use training in real life scenarios. Your dog will build a strong foundation of behaviors that make taking them out-and-about a dream, with a focus on loose leash walking. We train using a clicker or marker paired with a variety of rewards to build strong behaviors and maintain them long after class is over. All of our classes focus on positive reinforcement and follow LIMA standards. For more information about LIMA standards follow this link; https://m.iaabc.org/about/lima/

Adult dogs must be current on rabies and distemper/parvo vaccinations in order to attend classes or lessons at IHS. Puppies must receive two distemper/parvo vaccinations prior to attending the first class and show continuing vaccination updates as appropriate during the six weeks that classes are held.

*Dogs must be friendly with people and other animals on leash – if your dog barks, lunges or has shown aggression towards other dogs while on leash please contact our trainer for other options.

Classes are held at IHS's Dorman Campus.
