BTRCF Adoption Contract: In the event that your application is approved and you adopt one of our dogs, you are required to agree to the terms and conditions of this contract before you take possession of the dog.

I (We), the undersigned, agree to all of the following terms and conditions of this Adoption Contract and understand that non-compliance of this contract gives the Bull Terrier Rescue of Central Florida the right to reclaim this BULL TERRIER without refund of adoption fee.*

To return the above-mentioned Bull Terrier to the Bull Terrier Rescue of Central Florida Inc. (hereafter referred to as BTRCF) if ever unable to keep BT must be returned to BTRCF. I (We) will not seek an alternate home, nor will I (we) offer it for sale or have it euthanized without a legitimate medical reason.*

To notify BTRCF immediately if adopted Bull Terrier is lost or stolen and to make every effort possible to locate the dog.*

To notify BTRCF within five (5) days if I (we) move from the address provided on this contract and to provide us the new address of residence.*

To never take the adopted Bull Terrier to an animal shelter, pound or Humane Society*

To never allow to be used or to use adopted Bull Terrier in animal research or in dog fighting*

To never allow to be used or to use adopted Bull Terrier for protection training, attack training, or as a guard dog for any agency, film, corporation or organization.*

To treat adopted Bull Terrier as a family pet, with affection and kindness and not subject the dog to any abuse or cruelty at any time.*

To provide adopted Bull Terrier with regular veterinary care when indicated and to provide updated vaccinations, exams and proper licensing.*

To provide appropriate and sufficient food for the breed, fresh water at all times, shelter from all kind of weather elements, as well as human companionship. *

To not abandon the adopted Bull Terrier in the yard, but to use a fenced-in yard for play or relief purposes. If no fenced-in yard is available, to keep the Bull Terrier on a leash when the dog is not contained within a fenced area.*

I /We understand that the dog's microchip will remain registered to BTRCF but after official adoption of the dog I/We may add our name to the chip number (any cost associated to do so would be my responsibility).*

To not transport the adopted Bull Terrier in an open vehicle without proper restraints, or in any way endanger the dog by leaving it in a car unattended.*

To immediately license the adopted Bull Terrier and provide it with a personal ID tag with its name and the owner’s address and phone number. It is highly recommended that the ID tag be attached to a suitable collar (we prefer a Martingale collar or harness) and kept on the dog at all times.*

To never leave a choke chain on the adopted Bull Terrier when unattended*

It is the full responsibility of the adopter to attend appropriate training sessions with the adopted Bull Terrier. I agree to attend training classes with my adopted Bull Terrier and cover costs associated as needed.*

I (We) agree to allow BTRCF to periodically check on the adopted Bull Terrier to make sure that this Adoption Contract is adhered to properly.*

Should I (we) fail to comply with the stipulations of this Adoption Contract, I (we) understand BTRCF will exercise its rights to have the adopted Bull Terrier returned to the Bull Terrier Rescue of Central Florida.*

PLEASE NOTE THAT BTRCF DOES NOT SUPPORT OR CONDONE DOG PARKS FOR MANY REASONS. We get contacted about incidents that end in lawsuits and/or death of the other dogs far too often involving even the friendliest of bull terriers. Bull terriers are an extremely powerful and tenacious breed so things can escalate quickly and if a dog fight does occur, it is difficult to stop & often times ends in the death of the other animal due to the strength of the breed even if they are not the aggressor. For these reasons, if I choose to bring my bull terrier to a dog park I understand the liability is solely my responsibility .*

Do you fully understand and accept the fact that a Bull Terrier must never be allowed off leash unless within a fully fenced, secure area (ie. NOT a dog park or "electric fencing" ), and then never left unattended? Do you also understand that no amount of training can ever ensure a Bull Terrier can safely be off leash or unconfined, and that not strictly adhering to this restriction will place your Bull Terrier at risk of serious injury or death?*

I/We have carefully read the above and agree to all terms and conditions as stated. My application will become part of this contract and is represented to be truthful. I(we) will provide BTRCF with the requested initial thorough videos of the inside, front and backyard of my(our)home. If applicable, we will provide BTRCF a copy of my (our) Landlord or HOA notification that allows me (us) to house and care for this dog in my(our) residence. After the adoption is finalized by adoption certificate, BTRCF will provide copies of exam, shot records, and bloodwork (if available), and as applicable upon adoption of the dog.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNIFICATION: In consideration of BTRCF to allow me/us to adopt this Bull Terrier as our pet, I/we promise and agree to be solely responsible for this animal and to indemnify and hold harmless the Bull Terrier Rescue of Central Florida, Inc. from any losses, lawsuits, claims, injury, or damages incurred by me or to any person, animal or property while in my/our possession. The undersigned further agree(s) and intend(s) that this RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNIFICATION shall apply to all known or unknown damages resulting while in my/our care of this dog during fostering, adoption, or ownership. The undersigned has/have read this contract before signing and agree(s) to all conditions listed therein. THIS IS A BINDING CONTRACT, ENFORCEABLE BY CIVIL LAW.
