Online Qualification Tournament No. 2 (Early Entry)

Players, Parents, Coaches: The Virginia Chess Federation is extermely pleased to host three (3) Grade School Qualification Tournaments (GSQT) leading to the State Scholastic Invitational Tournament in April 2021. This GSQT is the first of three (3) GSQTs being held, the other two are in February and March.

This is a US CHESS RATED ONLINE CHESS TOURNAMENT.

The Early Entry Fee period of $35 will close at midnight on Tuesday, February 18th.
Starting Wednesday, Feb 19th, the Entry Fee increases to $50.

Registration CLOSES on Tuesday, Feb 23rd at 9AM Eastern Time. This is a FIRM closing time, no entries are allowed after 9AM on Feb 23rd!!

ALL GAMES will be played on the Chesskid.com online chess platform. YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE A CHESSKID ACCOUNT TO PLAY. Even if you do, all players will be assigned a UNIQUE USERNAME for the tournament. The Username will be only for this tournament. We will distribute instructions about your Username and Passphrase once we receive them from Chesskid.com.

TO PLAY you must be a member of the US Chess Federation. Join US Chess at www.uschess.org, There are age-dependent fees to become a member of US Chess, or to renew your existing US Chess membership.

There are NO MONETARY PRIZES for this tournament. Awards in all sections are Trophies or Plaques that will be awarded based on the number of players in each section. More players = more awards!! Awards will be mailed to all winners AFTER the tournament staff completes all Fair Play Analysis.

I ACKNOWLEDGE that the Chief Tournament Director has the authority under the Official Rules of Chess (Rules 1C2, 21K, 20M4) to eject from the tournament any player whom the Chief TD believes has violated Fair Play (e.g. cheating).
