Please be advised that sterilization and dental procedure slots are fully booked on the following dates. However, we are still accepting bookings for vaccinations and microchipping.

Getting started is super simple:

4. Read through the terms and conditions (we promise it’s not too long!).
5. Hit “Submit” — and then check your email! You’ll get a message shortly with a link to join our WhatsApp group, where we’ll share updates.

So, how does it all work? 🐾
On the day of your appointment:

1. Drop off your pet at the scheduled time and location if your pet is being sterlised  — we’ll be there to welcome you!
2. Your furry friend will travel with us in our fully equipped, pet-safe trailer to the sterilization site.
3. Once all the pets have been treated, we’ll bring them back to the same location later that afternoon for collection.
4. Throughout the day, we’ll keep you updated via the WhatsApp group — you’ll know exactly how things are going and when your pet is ready to come home.
5. We know it can feel a little nerve-wracking, but rest assured — your pet is in caring, capable hands every step of the way! 💙

📌 Important Information – Please Read Carefully

📅 Bookings
Select a date that’s available for your area only — we operate in one location at a time, based on the advertised schedule.
If your chosen date is fully booked, your booking will automatically be moved to the next available date in your area. You’ll have the option to accept or decline this new date.

💉 Surgery Costs
🐶 Dogs
Spay/neuter costs depend on your dog’s weight. All dogs are weighed at the clinic to determine the correct anesthetic dosage.

 

Note: We do not perform sterilizations on any bulldog breeds.

🐱 Cats
Standard sterilization cost: R550

🦷 Dentals
Fixed cost: R1400
Includes anesthetic, pain medication, extractions, polishing, and antibiotics (if needed, at the vet’s discretion).

⚠️ Additional Medical Conditions
The prices above cover routine sterilizations only.
If your pet is:

• On heat
  • For cats and small dogs on heat, the cost is R50.
  • Medium-sized dogs are charged R100, and large dogs R150.
• Pregnant
  • If your pet is pregnant, an additional cost may apply depending on how far along the pregnancy is, with a maximum charge of R200.
• Or has other common conditions listed on the booking form

• …additional costs may apply due to the complexity of the surgery and required medication.

If we discover any unlisted medical condition (e.g., cryptorchidism – undescended testis), we’ll contact you directly to discuss any extra costs.

💉 Vaccinations
Vaccinations are optional and charged separately from sterilizations.

You can vaccinate pets not being sterilized by bringing them to the drop-off point — we’ll gladly assist!

🐾 Day of Surgery – What You Need to Know
To ensure a smooth and safe experience for everyone, please take note of the following:

🔒 Pet Safety & Control

• Please make sure your pets are secure and under your control at all times until they are safely placed in a cage.
• There will be many animals present, so it’s important to avoid any unnecessary stress or incidents.
• Tales of Tails cannot be held responsible for pets that are not properly controlled by their owners.

🐱 Cats & Carriers

• If you're using your own carrier, double-check that it is securely closed and escape-proof.
• If you choose to use a Tales of Tails carrier, please swap your cat into the provided cage inside your car to prevent escapes.
• We are not liable for cats that escape due to unsecured carriers.

📍 Drop-Off & Collection Points

• Drop-off and collection will happen at the same location.
• There is no fixed collection time, as it depends on the animals’ recovery and overall well-being.
• We’ll send updates via the WhatsApp group, including the estimated arrival time for collection.

📲 Stay Connected

• Please monitor the WhatsApp group throughout the day for important updates and instructions.
• This is our main communication channel to keep you informed about your pet’s progress and collection timing.

Owner Declaration & Consent Form
Tales of Tails 

1. Clinic & Procedure Acknowledgement

• I understand that the procedure(s) will be performed at a Primary Health Care Clinic.
• I acknowledge that anaesthesia carries inherent risks, and I accept these risks as part of the procedure.

2. Post-Operative Care & Liability

• In the event of any post-surgical complications, I will notify Tales of Tails immediately.
• Should my pet be admitted to another veterinary facility after the procedure, I understand that Tales of Tails and the veterinary clinic involved will not be held liable for any resulting costs.

3. Additional Fees

• If my pet is in heat, an additional fee of up to R150 will apply.
• If my dog is heavily pregnant, an additional fee of R200 will apply. For cats, the fee is R100.
• Any other medical conditions not listed above may incur additional costs. I will be notified by Tales of Tails should this occur.

4. Vaccination & Disease Prevention

• I accept full responsibility for any risks associated with vaccine-preventable illnesses.
• While Tales of Tails and its veterinary partners take all reasonable precautions to prevent the spread of disease, I understand that up-to-date vaccinations are strongly recommended prior to my pet’s visit.

5. Consent for Treatment and Transport

• I hereby give consent for Tales of Tails to transport my pet(s) to and from Rooikoppies Veterinary Clinic or any other veterinary practice that may be used.
• I accept the terms and conditions of Tales of Tails and Rooikoppies Veterinary Clinic, or any other practice involved, and acknowledge that neither party can guarantee the outcome of the proposed therapy.
• I indemnify both Tales of Tails and the veterinary practice against any adverse outcomes resulting from the treatment or transport.

6. Indemnity & Acceptance

• I agree to settle any additional costs incurred on the day of the procedure.
• I understand that this declaration shall be deemed valid whether or not I have read it in full.
• It becomes effective once my pet(s) has been collected, or once I have verbally or in writing agreed to the collection.

7. WhatsApp Group Participation

• By completing the booking, I consent to being added to a WhatsApp group for communication on the day of the procedure.
• I understand that my name and cellphone number will be visible to other group participants.

8. Right of Admission Reserved

• Tales of Tails reserves the right of admission. This includes the right to refuse service or cancel bookings at their discretion, particularly in cases where the safety, health, or welfare of staff, animals, or facilities may be compromised.
