The Hudson PTO will accept nominations to recognize a HCSD Staff Member who exemplifies excellence in their support role. This individual must be an active participant in the school community and have the respect of students, parents, and colleagues. A check for $500 will be presented to the recipient.

•  Eligibility: Any individual support staff member employed for a minimum of one full year by the  Hudson City School District.
• Nominations will be accepted from any member of the Hudson educational community (teachers, staff, parents, administrators, and students).
• The Selection Committee is comprised of PTO Board Members.

Excellent and effective support staff often exhibit many of the following characteristics:

Fairness	Does not exhibit favoritism towards one person over another.	Personal Touch	Shows an interest in students and colleagues by asking about their feelings and opinions.
Sense of Humor	Has a quick wit and can laugh at themselves and with colleagues as long as it's not at the expense of another individual.	Creativity/Fun	Finds ways to support the learning process regardless of their role in the school setting.
Technical Competence	Exhibits a high level of technical competence in given role.	Willingness to Admit Mistakes	Recognizes mistakes and apologizes for them when they affect others.
Forgiving	Is willing to forgive others and start each day with a clean slate.	Respect	Is aware of feelings and avoids situations that would embarrass others.
High Expectations	Has high expectations for self and others; challenges others to do their best and to meet the high expectations of the district; always goes the extra mile.	Compassion	Shows sensitivity and helps others.
Sense of Belonging	Develops a sense of unity and companionship within an emotionally safe environment.	Good Colleague Collaboration	Cooperates and works willingly with other colleagues.

Please use three of these characteristics and provide examples of how the nominated staff member has exhibited these attributes.
