As Student Nurse Leaders, it is our job to ensure the safety of our constituents and the public. That is why for the 2021 convention we made the decision to host the NSSNA convention virtually. This encompasses all of our elections, awards, and the State Student Nurse of The Year Award, including the interview.
For the 2021 State Student Nurse of the Year Award all of the other pieces of the application process will remain the same as far as the faculty forms and essays are concerned. Historically the panel interviews have been conducted in person, but this year we have made an exception due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For the 2021 year, the designated nominee from each school will now upload a one way interview video to youtube and email the link to the state board email. This will then be judged using the same scoring sheet as used in years past from a panel of 5 judges. All of this will be finished by February 6th 2021 so that the winner can be announced during the virtual convention. We would like to thank you all for being flexible during this time, and for your dedication for safety and the nursing profession.
