ALEKS Math - Accuplacer Reading & Writing Exam at Testing Center:

A valid photo identification (government issued photo ID or CSM student ID card) is required for all testing.

Your CSM student identification number is required.

ALEKS Math PPL is an adaptive system that covers a broad spectrum of mathematics topics. The length of the Placement Assessment will vary, but can be up to 30 questions. You will see some, but not all, of the math you have learned in high school. The time limit on ALEKS Math Test is 2 hours.

Note: Please make sure you have created your profile in Aleks, then took Diagnostic assessment and practiced for atleast 5 hours before requesting appointment to take test in person at CSM testing center.

Accuplacer Reading & Writing Exam at Testing Center:

A valid photo identification (government issued photo ID or CSM student ID card) is required for all testing.

ACCUPLACER assessments are delivered in a multiple-choice format. All tests are untimed and consist of Math, Reading and Writing. ACCUPLACER assessments are computer-adaptive. Questions are selected based on your skill level; in other words, your response to one question determines the difficulty level of the following question. You are encouraged to give each question as much thought as you wish before selecting your final answer.

Pencils and scratch paper will be provided. The ACCUPLACER test has a built-in calculator for use on specific math problems only. Outside calculators are not permitted.

You will receive your scores directly after completing your test.

Accuplacer Testing at Home via Examity:

You can take placement test at home using Examity which requires computer, internet, webcam, microphone and speaker/headphone. Please see all requirement here.

Chemistry Placement Test:

Students have the option of taking the Chemistry Placement Test (California Chemistry Test) in order to place out of CHE 1050.

Students are given 45 minutes to answer 44 multiple choice questions. Student will be provided scatch paper, calculator and periodic table.

A score of 20 or higher allows for placement into CHE 1200 and/or CHE 1200L upon the successful completion of MTH 1115 or MTH 1120. A score of 20 or higher allows for placement into CHE 1350 upon the successful completion of MTH 1120 or MTH 1150.

Dual Enrollment Math Exam: (Final Exam for MTH-1120, MTH-1150 & MTH-1200)

The math dual enrolled high school students have been granted permission to arrange appointments with CSM Testing Centers to complete outstanding final exams from Spring 2020.

Please don't forget to bring your Picture ID as it is required for taking your exam at our Testing Center.

Student's can bring Calculator (TI-83/84) and Pencils. Testing Center will provide scratch paper. Formula sheet will be available online during testing.

CSM Course Testing:

You can look for course name, course number, section number and instructor name in your myLearning account. Please bring a valid Picture ID and material allowed for testing by your instructor such as calculator, note card, pencils and leave everything else in your vehicle like, cellphones, wallet, bags and purses.

Note: Scrtach papers will be provided by the testing center and pencils will be available if required.
