The YWCA Riverside Art Festival draws thousands of people from around the Great Lakes Bay Region with beautiful artistry and entertainment. Artists will be located on Downtown Bay City Streets, along the Saginaw Riverfront.
In 2021, we are taking a less is more approach. We will be highly selective in the jury process to focus on original works to provide the public with a quality show featuring talented artists. Any application that does not submit the required photos and description of the process will not be considered for the festival.
Media & Prize Money
YWCA markets the YWCA Riverside Art Festival through press releases, flyers, postcards, banners, radio, and road signs. Awards will be presented for Best of Show ($175 and ribbon) and second place ($100 and ribbon).
The YWCA Riverside Art Festival is located in downtown Bay City, Michigan in the Great Lakes Bay Region, home to over 500,000 residents.. For 47 years the YWCA Riverside Art Festival has drawn people from throughout the state of Michigan.

For 2021, the Riverside Art Festival will focus a spotlight on artists and makers that are women and people of color. We are offering scholarships to these demographics, and they will receive a prominent location in our fair. All artists are welcome, and all will be considered during the application process.
We will highlight artists that elevate and celebrate diversity and inclusion in their work, to align with our mission of “eliminating racism and empowering women.” (If your work does not include these goals, you'll still be considered!)
The YWCA Riverside Art Festival accepts only handmade-original work/design. Commercial kits, premade patterns and pieces are not accepted. We do not accept MLM vendors. All jewelry must be made by the jeweler, prefabricated jewelry is not allowed. All artists must submit a process summary. This is a juried show and the jury committee reserves the right to limit the number of artists accepted for the show and the number of artists represented in each media category.
Due to the uncertainty of Covid-19 restrictions, we are not accepting appliations for food vendors/food trucks at this time.
• Jury meets twice: once in February for applications received by March 5, 2021 and once in April 15 for applications received after March 5, 2021
• All applications must include 5 excellent photos - A work in progress and booth display must be included. The jury will not consider applications that do not have the required photos. Please attach photos in the section below.
• All applications must include a short paragraph describing your work and the process used.
Set-up spots will be designated on the streets downtown. You will drive up to your booth to unload and pack-up. Booth spaces are 12’ wide by 12-16’ deep. This year you will receive your booth number in advance and the set up time will be increased to 4 hours.
Booth Sitters Have to go to the restroom? Get a drink? Shop? YWCA will have several booth sitters to assist our hard-working artists. We will also have a designated artist relations tent to answer pressing questions.
