High School & College Freshmen Scholarship Application

Beginning 2021, HASBAT and AUSA will annually award scholarships to High School Junior, Senior, and College Freshman students attending high schools and colleges/universities in North Alabama. High Schools include Huntsville City, Madison City, and Madison County. Colleges include those in North Alabama under eligibility. The total value of the scholarships awarded is $5,000 divided amongst the winners. Eligible students must meet the following criteria - please check a box indicating compliance:

Eligibility Criteria:*

Must be a full-time High School Junior, Senior, or College Freshman student attending an eligible school in the North Alabama regionMust possess a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.Must have a focus/major in a STEM-related career and/or degree.Must be interested in pursuing a career related to STEM in the North Alabama area upon graduationMust be a United States Citizen

Submission instructions (Please read and comply accordingly):

Application must be typed and submitted on or before Wednesday, April 15, 2023.
All questions must be answered completely (no blanks).
Applying student's current high school or college/university transcript must be included with application. Unofficial transcripts are accepted.
Application must include at least one (1) letter of reference from Academia, Community Service, JROTC, or a current employer.

Applicants may wish to include a resume, bio, or other supporting material for the selection committee to consider. Complete the online application or email the completed application and all supporting documents to awards@hasbat.org with the subject line titled as "HASBAT & AUSA Scholarship Application." Applications are due on or before April 15, 2023 with award announcements made in late April 2023. Awardees are expected to attend a special ceremony for award receipt public acknowledgement. Business attire is required.
