Community Service Bar Pre-Approval Request

This form is for Girl Scouts in the GSNYPENN Pathways council serving parts of New York State and Pennsylvania. If this is not your council, do not submit this form. Contact your own council for instructions.

To earn the Cadette, Senior, or Ambassador Community Service Bar, a Girl Scout selects a community organization to volunteer with, receives guidance on what tasks the Girl Scout will complete, and obtains council approval* before starting the service.

Requirements to earn a Community Service Bar:

Council pre-approval.
Minimum of 20 hours of community service with your chosen organization within one year. (Service hours may be with only one organization)
Service hours must be logged and signed or verified by a contact at the organization. (You will be asked to upload a typed and signed log in the final summary report.)
Complete the service within one year of approval.

*Pre-approval can take up to 10 business days. You may check on the status of your request at any time by emailing awards@gsnypenn.org.
