• Student Loan Application Form

  • According to B.C. law, HFLA can only offer loans to people over the age of 19. As such, if a student is not yet 19, the parent/guardian will need to make the application.

  • HFLA is piloting a new program called ACCESS which is specifically designed to assist students from low to moderate income homes. This loan program will have relaxed loan application/guarantor requirements with the goal of providing young Jewish students greater access to a post-secondary education.

In order to qualify, your combined family income must fall within these ranges:

    • If your family has 2 members in it, the income threshold to be considered for this pilot program is $55,000
    • If your family has 3 members in it, the income threshold to be considered for this pilot program is 3 $60,000
    • If your family has 4 members in it, the income threshold to be considered for this pilot program is $82,000
    • If your family has 5 or more members in it, the income threshold to be considered for this pilot program is $90,000

If you are financially independent from your parents, the income threshold to be considered for this program is $32,000

Note: HFLA will be awarding two loans as part of the ACCESS pilot program in 2021.  Applicants studying in British Columbia will be given priority consideration for this pilot program.

  • If you do not wish to be considered for the ACCESS program, you will need to provide guarantors to be considered for an HFLA loan.
