I understand BTRCF provides each foster dog 1-martingale collar, 2-BTRCF identity tag & 3-leash that is expected to be worn by the foster dog while in foster care AND expected to be on the dog during transport . (in certain circumstances a collar may need to be mailed to you for dogs coming to you directly from shelter, etc) .

If you vacation/travel often, this may not work out to be a foster at this time. Boarding a dog can be expensive however BTRCF is willing to pay for up to SEVEN days of boarding that the rescue arranges with the boarding facility or vet clinic near where you live if you need to travel for Thanksgiving or winter holiday. Additional days would not be covered by BTRCF as we are solely funded by donations.

I will accept and consider the dog as a household companion, not as an outside pet, and will provide the dog a safe environment, humane treatment, and give proper food, fresh water, shelter and exercise, and I will allow a reasonable amount of time (could be a few weeks or more) for the dog to adjust to new surroundings, (known as decompression time).

I understand Bull Terrier Rescue of Central Florida (hereafter BTRCF) will provide payment for veterinary expenses for the foster dog, provided that the veterinary services are PREAPPROVED by a BTRCF board member and performed by an approved veterinarian chosen by BTRCF. BTRCF will make every effort to choose a veterinarian near the foster home location. BTRCF will NOT be responsible or provide reimbursement for medical care unless it is preapproved by a BTRCF board member and performed by a BTRCF authorized veterinarian. *BTRCF IS THE FIRST POINT OF CONTACT FOR VET APPOINTMENT(S) at the veterinary office for medical information, medical plan decisions, pre-surgical paperwork, invoices, appointments, etc as BTRCF is responsible for the dog’s medical well being and legal owner of the dog. BTRCF will relay this information on to the foster.

I will immediately notify by phone AND also text message BTRCF at 407-435-0276 if the dog is lost, and I will make every reasonable effort to recover the dog.

I will NOT give or sell the dog to any other individual, rescue group, humane association, shelter/pound, or any organization without BTRCF consent.

I will NOT alter the dog’s appearance in any way, shape or form (i.e. cropping, docking) except for routine grooming.

I will immediately notify BTRCF in the event of the dog’s death during the foster care period.

I/we agree that I/we will contact/inform BTRCF before bringing any additional animals/pets into our home while fostering a dog for BTRCF.

If I am chosen to become a foster with BTRCF I will allow a BTRCF representative to make periodic visits to my home during the foster care period.

I will immediately notify BTRCF of any change in address, telephone number, or of any plans to move or travel with or without the dog.

I will immediately notify BTRCF of any change in circumstances that may prevent me from providing foster care during the time period agreed upon under this foster care agreement understanding that BTRCF will need 3-4 days to create a new arrangement. I will not allow another individual that’s not listed on this agreement to house or care for the foster dog unless it’s been discussed & approved by a BTRCF board member.

I wont change the foster dog’s name & will keep calling the name it came with as I understand the dog has been through a lot of change and confusion so consistency is important. The new family may change it when they adopt.

I will immediately surrender the dog to BTRCF if at any point and for any reason, BTRCF requests that I return the dog.

The foster dog will have a martingale collar. These collars are very good at preventing the dog from slipping out. While in foster care, and until the dog is officially adopted we insist that the foster dog wear the provided collar with our rescue BTRCF ID dog tag.

Should I decide to permanently adopt the dog, I will notify BTRCF and will follow established adoption procedures in place by the rescue.

I understand that the dog has/will be examined, spayed/neutered and vaccinated by a licensed veterinarian, and that the dog’s health is accurately represented to the best knowledge of BTRCF. However, I further understand that no representations are made by BTRCF as to the physical, temperamental or mental disposition of the dog.

I agree that BTRCF makes the decision as to who adopts the foster dog with a closed adoption. I will provide accurate information and feedback on the dog's behavior, temperament, personality, etc. And, I will not alter the dogs microchip information in any way.

I agree to foster a BTRCF dog at my own risk, indemnify and release BTRCF, its board members, and volunteers of any and all liability arising from damages to person(s), other dogs or property caused by the dog while in my care.

I/We understand to keep the foster dog physically separated from all/any other animals in the household/outside of the home. This separation is extremely important to the success of integrating your foster dog into your household and should be strictly followed no matter how well you believe you can monitor/control the interaction with other animals. Allowing contact with other animals can cause aggression, conflict, and physical harm to animals and humans. I/We understand the importance of this step and agree to follow these guidelines

I agree to stay in contact with BTRCF and provide them feedback regarding the foster dog's personality, temperament, behavior, medical issues, etc.

I agree to take clear photos and videos of the foster dog and submit/text them to BTRCF regularly so that we may update our social media platforms and website.

I agree that if anyone reaches out to me concerning the BTRCF foster dog, that I will direct them to a board member of BTRCF for direct communication. Only with permission from BTRCF may I discuss the foster dog with any potential adopter. I will not provide my personal contact information to anyone inquiring about the dog, both for mine and the foster dog's safety.
