Dear Applicants,
Thank you for taking this opportunity to apply for our 2023 scholarships. We know that this has been a very challenging year for you due to the deleterious effects of COVID-19. This virus has caused a lot of changes in the way schools conduct their business. We am sure that you are aware that some colleges are not requiring SAT/ACT scores this year. We have changed our scholarship application to reflect this change. Some school systems paid for their students to take the SAT last school year. On the application, you will have the option of using your scores or simply writing an additional academic essay to compensate for the 20 points used to assess the aforementioned scores. This essay requires you to write on a relevant topic of your choice; you will be asked to support or not support your chosen idea. There are examples provided on the application. You will be graded on grammar, syntax, organization, and effective use of vocabulary to express your ideas.
Once your scores have been calculated, the committee will interview the top 10 students. It will probably be in a virtual format. We will keep you updated.
Good luck!
Sincerely yours,
Brother Dominique Nichols and Brother Michael Scott
