The Outstanding Member of the Year recognizes outstanding leadership contributions to pediatric nutrition and/or maternal and child health. The following are criteria for award selection:
- PNPG membership for three or more years
- Outstanding service, accomplishments, and community outreach in pediatric nutrition or maternal and child health as exemplified by research, publication, or conceptual development.
- The current PNPG Chair and members of the PNPG Grants and Awards Committee are not eligible.
The recipient will receive $1,200 to attend a pediatric nutrition conference and be recognized at the PNPG member meeting at FNCE.
Application Requirements:
The materials and information listed below will be needed to apply for the PNPG Outstanding Member of the Year Award. Note: Only the first two items are required. The remaining items can be pasted directly from the CV or if unavailable, you may list “unknown.” It is possible to be awarded the Outstanding Member of the Year Award without all the optional information, but if the applicant is missing a large percentage of the optional information, they would be at a disadvantage.
- CV of the person being nominated (self-nomination is allowed)*
- One-paragraph statement of why you believe the person is deserving of the award*
- List of PNPG leadership positions or other PNPG volunteer work
- List of other Academy leadership positions or committees
- List of involvement in pediatric/MCH policy or legislative efforts (note whether each is national, state, or local)
- List of involvement in other organizations that impact pediatric nutrition or MCH
- Brief statement of leadership in MCH or pediatric nutrition efforts at place of employment
- List of traditional or social media efforts that promote pediatric or MCH nutrition
- List of peer reviewed publications (includes DPG newsletter articles, book chapters)
- List of pediatric or MCH oriented presentations (include title and setting/organization where presented)
- List of pediatric or MCH nutrition courses instructed (include title of course and institution)
- List of pediatric or MCH nutrition guest lectures instructed (include title of lecture, course presented in, and institution)
- Names of dietetic interns, students, or other trainees precepted in a pediatric or MCH nutrition setting (10 max)
- List of volunteer roles for community-based, non-profit organizations promoting pediatric or maternal and child nutrition
