The City of Grover Beach recognizes the importance of a diverse and healthy local economy and is committed to implementing economic development strategies that help businesses be successful and retain local employees.
Assisting local businesses that are weathering the hardships from the COVID-19 pandemic through programs such as microgrants is just one of many of Grover Beach’s initiatives to create a business-friendly community and create more jobs and economic opportunities.
The City of Grover Beach, in partnership with the South County Chambers of Commerce, is offering local businesses and residents the opportunity to participate in a new program, the Buy Local Program, as part of the ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Buy Local Program supports shopping local at small businesses while infusing additional money through the purchase of gift cards at Grover Beach businesses. The City will purchase up to twenty $25 gift cards from each qualified local business that is selected, up to $500. These gift cards will then be redeemed by shoppers who turn in $100 worth of receipts from Grover Beach businesses. The combination of support from community spending and support from the City will stimulate the local economy during this challenging time.
