As an all volunteer organization, we are always looking for enthusiastic Doodle lovers to lend a helping hand, and we are thrilled that you want to join the DDR team. There are many different ways that you can help DDR.

Whether you are a people person, a planner, an accountant, any or all of the above, we have a place for you. This questionnaire is designed to help us get to know you, so that we can do our best to place you in a role where your skills will be best utilized and your volunteer experience will be as rewarding as possible.

Once we receive your completed application, you will receive an email with instructions on how to join Slack, our communication platform. 

Please be aware and note:

• We are an all-volunteer organization and, while we do our best to contact volunteers as soon as possible, our volunteers have other commitments that may occasionally cause a delay in their response.
• We are an all foster home organization, and as such do not have a facility that requires volunteers.

Below are descriptions for each Volunteer Activity:

Event Support & Fundraising:

*assist in planning, promoting, and running events for social & fundraising purposes

*assist in corporate outreach for potential fundraising and sponsorship opportunities

*assist as a public relations ambassador at events to spread our mission 

 
Social Media:

*help build content for social media postings through Planoly

*collaborate on posting strategies

*requires someone who has a more flexible schedule throughout the week

*knowledge of, or willing to learn Canva, TikTok, Reels, Stories and Youtube Shorts

 

Web Maintenance:

*help build and update content on Wix platform

*assist with adoptable dog postings

*requires someone who has a more flexible schedule throughout the week

 
Video Production/Graphic Designer:

*help create graphics/videos for adoptable dogs

*assist with graphic design for both web and print needs

 
Intake:

*gather information on rehomed dogs to find best placement within the organization

*requires someone with the ability to respond quickly and have weekday availability 

*possibly pick up dogs from shelters and transport to foster or keep overnight until foster is available

*actively looks for doodles in your local shelters

 
Transport(either locally or between our metropolitan areas:

*assist getting dogs from shelters to fosters

*assist getting dogs to and from vet/grooming appointments

*assist with transporting dogs between cities as needed

*assist with moving supplies within your assigned region 

 
Supplies:

*get supplies to new foster homes

*help with supply round ups and organize storage unit 

*help supply replenishment to fosters as needed

 
Admin:

*foster follow up and communication

*reach out to vets and groomers to help build our network

 

Creative Writer:

*assist in writing content for story telling in our media posts and dog bios

*assist with building content for Rescue emails and outreach

 

Photographer

*willingness to meet up with foster to take photos of dogs in your location

*help with editing photo's for dogs adoption posting

*take pictures at local events

 

Medical Assistance

*track, review and record medical records on incoming and adopted dogs

*authorize treatment and interface with our partner vets to provide services for our incoming dogs

*provide support to fosters with regard to medical needs of foster dogs

*does not require veterinary/medical knowlege, although very helpful.
