Virtual Student Participation Policy
1. Purpose and Business Description
The 10-Week Small Business Strategy Course (SBSC) is an online, virtual education platform designed to share small business start-up information to the general public. The course not only teaches students how to start but also how to sustain a business while exposing them to key attributes needed in order to become a successful business owner.
2. Student Criteria and Requirements
a) Students will engage with the facilitator via 1) PC or laptop that has a camera so that the Facilitator and Student can see and hear each other, 2) Have access to the Internet, 3) be able to attend weekly sessions.
b) The Presentation topic will be business-related in nature, conducted via an online, conference bridge, and video conferencing provided by the Company.
c) The course lecture will be 2 to 3 hours in length. Course time may be shorter or longer depending upon the topic and the number of inquires or questions after the lecture.
d) Students should be prepared to share information related to the topic/questions presented in the class and may include other information as appropriate. The Company will only ask questions that relate to the Participant’s business, activities, aspirations, and/or other related subjects based on the ongoing conversation during the interview process.
e) Students shall refrain from using language or content such as to the current state of political issues, religion, war, etc as to not offend other students or prohibit them from learning.
f) Students will refrain from utilizing jargon, or another language that leads to the selling of products or services. However, the Company is allowing students to mention services or products directly related to the company for which they are starting up.
g) Students hereby give the Company to use their voice and interview recording on video conference. This also may include giving the Company permission to use their likeness, photos, or business information to place on the website or used for promotional purposes to encourage future students to join the course.
Any information provided or obtained by Students during the planning and execution process of their business plan is intended to provide career and business-related education and training. Therefore, the Students agrees to enter into this Agreement to provide information based on his/her own expert knowledge and experience related to their business or career, to be best of their ability and cannot hold the Company liable for any damages for any miscommunicated information or materials given to the Company or posted on the Company’s website or magazine. This includes damages incurred by their memberships, partners, or affiliates.
4. Ownership of Intellectual Property:
By attending this course and agreeing to the below Non-Disclosure Agreement, all Students acknowledge that all intellectual property and related materials, including any trade secrets, moral rights, goodwill, relevant registrations or applications for registration, and rights in any patent, copyright, trademark, trade dress, industrial design, and trade name (the “Intellectual Property”) that is developed or produced by the Company under this Agreement will be the sole property of the Company. The Participant will be responsible for the management and security of its own intellectual property in relation to his or her presentation, curriculum, training, seminar, and/or materials.
a) All materials received in this course shall not be duplicated or shared unlawfully without the written consent of the owners.
5. Cancellation or Termination of Agreement:
Students acknowledge there are no refunds given after attending two courses. Both parties have the right to cancel this agreement in writing at any time.
6. Conflict of Interests
Students agree that there may be times when students have similar or general likeness listed in this agreement and that their involvement or participation may cause a potential conflict of interest with another student. However, the Parties understand that they perform similar or related services, and may engage in events similar in nature or participate in which there is a need for services for a particular client or event (e.g. workshop, private session, conference, etc.); and that is outside the scope of this agreement. In this case, this would not be considered a conflict of interest. The Parties have agreed to make every effort to discuss whether a conflict has occurred. If the conflict cannot be resolved, the Company has full right to revoke their participation to remedy the conflict.
EACH STUDENT AGREES TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE COMPANY, AND ITS RESPECTIVE AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, AGENTS, EMPLOYEES, AND PERMITTED SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, LOSSES, DAMAGES, LIABILITIES, PENALTIES, PUNITIVE DAMAGES, EXPENSES, REASONABLE LEGAL FEES AND COSTS OF ANY KIND OR AMOUNT WHATSOEVER, WHICH RESULT FROM OR ARISE OUT OF ANY ACT OR OMISSION OF THE INDEMNIFYING PARTY, ITS RESPECTIVE AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, AGENTS, EMPLOYEES, AND PERMITTED SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS THAT OCCURS IN CONNECTION WITH THIS AGREEMENT. THIS INDEMNIFICATION WILL SURVIVE THE TERMINATION OF THE AGREEMENT.
I HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS STUDENT PARTICIPATION POLICY
