The George Floyd Memorial Foundation has established a Scholarship Program for undergraduate students who are currently enrolled or will be enrolled at an accredited four-year College/University in the Fall of 2022. These scholarships will keep Mr. Floyd's memory alive while providing much-needed support to students. The recipients of this year’s scholarship will receive $1,000.00. The deadline for applying is July 1, 2022.
Eligibility Requirements:
- The application is now open for the Fall of 2022 academic year and students will be awarded in the Fall Term of 2022. Applicants for the program must meet the following requirements:
- Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
- Have a demonstrated, unmet financial need as verified by your college or university.
- Be enrolled full-time at an accredited College/University
- Major: Sports Management, Business, or Music
Application Requirements:
For consideration, applications must be submitted online and include the following:
- A current transcript.
- Submit a cover letter regarding career interests.
- One letter of recommendation from a professor or community leader (letters from family members or friends are unacceptable). An online letter of recommendation must be submitted from a professor or community leader (letters from family members or friends will not be accepted).Recommendations must be on letter head and signed in wet ink by the recommender.
Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applicants who have submitted complete applications will be notified of scholarship decision within 6 weeks after the application due date.
