Your wage is based upon your credentials and MN Rule 3 qualifications. It is your responsibility to provide your director with all documentation supporting your qualifications and years of childcare experience. All employment is on condition of passing a background check and fingerprinting. As the employee, you are responsible for the $9.10 cost of fingerprinting. Background study and fingerprints must be completed 5 days from accepting offer. If you fail to get your fingerprinting done within 10 days you will be responsible for the $40 cost to rerun the background
The first 90 days of employment are probationary. After 90 days, your director can choose to extend a permanent position to you or if either you or they decide you are not the right fit for their location, employment will be terminated at that point.
After accepting an offer, your director should schedule an orientation date with you. At this orientation you will need to bring: 2 forms of ID, Direct Deposit is required you will need your bank account and routing numbers, Transcripts (if applicable Common examples of these identifications are state drivers license, birth certificate, social security card, USCIS ID card, etc.

DHS requires all staff to be CPR and First Aide certified within their first 90 days of employment. These certifications much be pediatric and maintained throughout your employment.
DHS also requires all staff to keep up on in-service hours each calendar year. If you work less than 20 hours per week licensing requires you to complete 12 hours of in-services each calendar year, over 20 hours per week you will need to complete 24 hours. All Compass Child Care employees are required to register with Develop. Develop is an online in-service/educatior tracking system for early childhood educators.
