Dear Member
The new Equestrian Australia Board will shortly re-take the reins of Equestrian Australia. It is an exciting time for our national federation, as this new board embarks on further governance reform and determines the future strategy for equestrian sports in Australia, through a collaborative approach with the states.
The EA chair elect Mark Bradley has requested state branches to provide recommendations for people to volunteer on the following committees:
- the EA Board’s review of our current strategic plan (through our EA Strategy Steering Committee), and
- the EA Board’s consideration of the organisational structure and resources across the sports and any resultant process of reform (initially through our EA Governance Steering Committee, and potentially later as part of a wider equestrian sport governance reform consultation initiative).
We are keen to support EA through this process. To ensure we are transparent and open we invite EV members to express interest in volunteering their time and knowledge to support the reform of EA through the completion and submission of the EOI form below.
As Chair of the EV Board I am really excited about this opportunity for our members to contribute at a national level and I hope that this process will encourage members who may not have been able to contribute in the past, but who may have the right skill set for these two committees, to jump on board.
Here in Victoria, we look forward to working collaboratively with our Victorian membership and the new EA board, as together we embark on further governance reform and determine the future strategy for equestrian sports in Australia.
Yours sincerely
Michelle Heagney
Chair, EV Board
