Cologne Summer School on Opinion Form!ng Processes in Digital Democracies

July 26 - August 6, 2021

Application deadline: April 30, 2021 at 6:00 pm (CET). Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

The concept of the summer school is a hybrid one. Therefore, you can choose between two options:

1. Onsite:

Eight students participate onsite at the University of Cologne while 20 students take part simultaneously online. The onsite group shares their cultural experiences with the online group during special time slots.

If onsite participation is impossible, this group of eight students joins the online group of 20 students.

2. Online:

A group of 20 students participates entirely online while eight students participate at the University of Cologne.

If onsite participation is impossible, this group of 20 students will be joined by the onsite group of eight students.

Structure of the program
You will be provided with a time table via email. Your punctual attendance in all lectures and group-work sessions is mandatory for receiving the certificate for attendance.

Important information on the video of motivation!

Instead of the standard letter of motivation the candidates have to introduce themselves in a short, max 1.5 min, video and explain their motivation for their application (in English language). Please upload the video to a website that suits you and insert the link into the box below. If you choose a file sharing application like DropBox or WeeTransfer, please make sure that the link will be working for an unlimited period of time. If you upload the video to Youtube, you can set it to "not listed". In this way, only people with the link will be able to see it and the video will not be shown in the results list even if searched with the exact same key words as in the title.

We will use the videos only for the purpose of selection and we will not hand them over to third- parties.
