How "dark" or saturated do you want?* This field is required.OK, so this can be a complicated and confusing topic! There are two somewhat related properties that combine to define what most people think of how "rich," "saturated," or "dark" a gem is. Those properties are called "tone" and "saturation." Rather than getting into the details of what those terms mean, let's just talk about a rough categorization based on the 4 selections below. Blue sapphire is used here for simplicity. If you chose something other than a blue sapphire above, the "hue" (or color) will be different, but the basic concept will be the same. Please choose your ideal darkness/saturation, or choose two to illustrate the lightest and darkest that you would find acceptable. Please note that some gem types do not span this entire spectrum of tone/saturation, but that is a detail that we can discuss in our follow-up conversation.
